General 'Cybergun' (brand) Consensus?

I am doing a bit of research regarding some various companies for various reasons and would like you, the users of ASC to pipe in and give me your positive and/or negative experience regarding this brand and their guns. Now, that sounds pretty vague, and it's meant to be. I could look through the bajillions of airsoft websites and look through thousands upon thousands of pages of reviews on specific guns and the little ticks and parts that people like and don't like, however.. well... that's a big pain in the ass.

What are some things you LOVE about that brand? What are some things you absolutely loath about it? Heck, what would you like to see them (or other companies) release?

As an airsoft player since 1998, involved in both the Canadian, American and Japanese airsofting communities, I'd like to thank anyone and everyone who could pipe in and give their comments regarding Cybergun.

Cheers from Tokyo
Aqua

I'll start with a minor gripe about the "officially licensed" trademarks specifically on their rebranded KJW Sig pistols.
For being officially licensed, you'd think that they could have at least spelled EXETER properly, they have it as EXTER.

French company that rebrands guns from Chinese companies. Also a patent pirate in France as they tried to trademark, patent things like AEG, hopup , etc. I recall reading some petition from french airsofters to boycott cyber gun.

Just my 2 cents...

In my opinion at least they have improved over the years by re-branding better quality guns like G&G, KA, KJW etc.. Instead of all the LPG clearsof crap they used to bring.

I think the company is a big trademark bully, and is ruining other airsoft businesses

Cybergun doesn't make anything, they just rebrand stuff, and have the licenses to put trades on.

Some of their guns they rebrand are: JG, CYMA, King Arms, G&G, KJW, WE, KWC, VFC, among many others.

So because the folks here have complaints about them being bullys etc, I would assume that means you would never ever purchase their products, would you say that's correct?

I wouldnt boycott it altogether, I have nothing really strong feeling against them, but they definitley would not be my first, second or third choice of companies to support

They're no better and no worse than Umarex, Echo1, etc.

They were heavy handed with some of their trademark/copyright attempts, but you can't fault them for going after companies using trademarks illegally. In the end they only went after trademarks; you'd think people would be more upset with Umarex since their lawsuits actually prevented a few guns from coming to market.

At the end of the day, I -- and probably the majority of people -- don't give a rat's ass as long as we get what we want for a good price.

Im not sure there is one gun that cybergun rebrands and distributes on their own that really stand out for them for most people to care. maybe the famas (nobody likes famas lol) or sig556 i guess

at least with echo1 they try to make different looking guns like that master blaster.

The price points for their guns are slightly higher than JG and cyma, so why not just buy a JG or a cyma?

The Cybergun rebranded CYMA AKS74U was always a decent gun for its low price. Pretty reliable, too. A few of the internals sucked (namely piston, piston head, spring guide and nozzle) but they actually did come with some ACM tightbore, which was better than a non-ACM non-tightbore.

I think Cybergun, Palco, Echo1 etc stuff gets an extra layer of Quality Control, too (honestly, that may actually be "~gets a first layer of QC" in a lot of cases).

if anything, Umarex are bigger trademark dillholes than Cybergun, so Cybergun has that going for them...
