So I just got this TM G18c
Fired a mag in single and auto, seems to work good Cycle is fine When manually racking the slide I find it catches a bit and seems to need some lube; So I went to fieldstrip the gun and... slide won't get off of there ![]() Here's what happens: I press down the slide takedown tabs push slide forward: it moves about 1mm with a "click" and stops there. Then I realized I was doing this with the hammer cocked. Pressed the trigger, hammer was released (and trigger locks back) Then pressed the tabs again, push the slide -> Trigger resets, slide now moves forward about 4-5mm and it's the same game again... can't move it passed this point Not sure what it could be, first time for me with a glock, I'm more used to M9/2011 mechanisms; Could it be the hammer getting in the way or something? And if it's the case, how to solve this O_o Any help is welcomed! |

I had similar problem with my ksc g19. I couldnt do anything, and took it to my gun guy who told me that a little part broke inside and that he couldn't dismantle the gun unless braking it. It's in the garbage now. Hope you do not have the same problem I had doo

Have you tried asking Manchovie?

Yup, sent him a PM
But since he seems to come here about once a day or so I figures I'd ask here too for a potentially quicker resolution Defenitely hope it's not the same thing Crodoc, that wouldn't be great at all... |

Only experience is with g17, but..
Hammer has to be cocked to remove the slide, pull the tabs down, then pull the slide back all the way then forward. Perhaps the fire selector has something to do with it also. Mine can get a little stuck sometimes but usually resolves itself.

This happens sometimes with my TM G17c.
What I do is make sure the hammer isn't cocked, rack the slide, pull the trigger and then it'll come off. |

hmmm yeah when the hammer is cocked is when it won't almost move (1mm)
If I pull the trigger it does move a bit more to 4-5mm as described in the OP Tried playing with the selector as well, no change in behaviors at all |

Hope not. But i forgot to tell you not to force it if it's stuck cause that part maybe is not broken yet, but if you try to open it with force it will. See someone who is an expert

Oh we do hate you, just never felt like wasting the time to give you a user title :P

I know how you can remove it but it should just come of when the hammer is cocked.
However if you lock the slide back and turn the gun upside down you should see a small screw in the slide that holds the plate on the back of the slide. If you remove the screw and plate the slide should come off even if its stuck otherwise. Note that this is from a kjw glock but its a tm clone so should work

Just tried removing it: Rear sight fell off, could remove a small squarish plate that plays a role with fire selector, remove the selector... That's as far as I could go. The outmost tab in the rear of the slide seems attached to the BBU, which I can't remove as it still is between the slide and frame. Removing these parts didn't change anything whatsoever ![]() But thanks for the input |

Kos Mos is a good guy!!
I had a stark arms G18c that had a problem like what you are describing. If I recall correctly, the hammer wasnt cocking down fully which was causing the blowback housing to get stuck and preventing the slide from coming off. I had to basically hold down the hammer with a screw driver while forcing the slide forward. |

Thanks Jordan, I'll give this a try
If it fails I think I'll pay a quick visit to Kos-Mos Got word from the previous owner; according to him "it's like that" (not claiming they're all like that but his is); Told me to tap the back of the slide with the back if a screwdriver... Not sure I want to get there, but I guess that it could be a ladt resort

Update:
Finally got the bastard out of there! So the culprit was the hammer indeed that stays way too high when cocked and catches on the BBU. And there's no way in hell tapping the slide would have done any good like Manchovie told me.... hmmmmm.... (and I tried actually, before realizing it was in fact the hammer the problem) Removing the selector switch (thanks Hectic!) I could press on it with a screwdriver, from the selector hole and slide the slide the slide the slide the slide (... :P) forward Now I disassembled the whole thing, cleaned and re-lubed with a thin coat of white lithium; Much better now! I have to say I'm a bit "pissed" that the hammer stays that high though; It means I can't fieldstrip the gun without removing the selector switch and potentially losing parts. == When the gun was stripped, I manually pressed the hammer down a bit more and it did click lower (to the height it should have been), but the trigger wouldn't work anymore and the hammer would stay cocked. Only pressing firmly on the part showed by arrrow in pic below would release it halfway, to where it normally stand when racking the slide... ![]() How should I deal with that? === On a side note, the nozzle return spring has clearly seized a few time as it is warped and deformed. And looks like there should be a detent pin in the selector as there was a completely messed up spring coming out of it. Had to use pliers to remove it. It works without but the selector feels flimsy as fuck .... :/ Thank you all for you help |
