No, not the buffet; I'm new and I need an AEG, but I'm rather indecisive. I'm sure many of you are fed up with having to help noobs find a gun, but please bear with me. I've read up on all of them, so I know the basics; What I'd like to hear is your opinions on the guns to help me make mine. My list includes:
-TM AK-47
-TM AUG
-TM FAMAS
-TM G36c
I need something for 1/4 CQB so I was thinking AK and a sidearm. How do the bullpup's (AUG and FAMAS in this case) manage in CQB, compared to the G36c? What is the most reliable, and what are your own preferences? Any help, whatsoever, will be appreciated. Thanks!

Personal opinions offered from others in response will be exactly that, personal opinions.

Besides, you've already answered your own question by telling us what you want.

If you, as you say, have already "read the basics", then you should know that TM AEGs are mostly the same. The rest of the equation will be answered by your own playing style and skill, and no one can comment on that if you haven't started yet.

The variety of AEGs, or real steel for that matter, is large because many people have varied preferences coupled with practical requirements.

Famas is more pointy in cqb just because it is lighter. Augs are big and heavy work horses. Now excuse me I have to go take my horses ou to graze.

Yes, you're 100% right, however that's a little hard at the moment. The closest regional rep is four hours away. I have yet to find the time and resources to go, but I hope to soon.

Mhm, and that's what I want. For example, out of this list you would prefer which gun, and why? From this I hope burn out pro's and con's.

Thanks Everyone.

I'm new to airsoft too but I understood something through all my reading. TM are mostly the same, the only difference between them is the actual look of the gun. So choose your gun based on what you want to look. If you tends toward a Terrorist look or Russian soldier go for the AK, if you want to look like a German soldier go for the G36 (if I'm right on this one). Personally I chose the M16 since I want to look like a Canadian soldier. Hope you get my point.

PS: I hope it helped you.

check out some reviews on arines airsoft, they have some pretty indepth reviews. Heres some of my persoanl opinions on your choices. All aeg shoot about the same in FPS stock

-TM AK-47
This AEG is very strudy, the AK47 hopup for some reason i find better than others in duribility wise. also you need to do less adjusting. The AK47 has less options and mods (which you can save money)

-TM AUG
The AUG has the longest inner barrel, they shoot fairly accurate, one thing to notice about the AUG is that its heavy and long, so make sure your body fits the gun. Also same as the AK less mod options.

-TM FAMAS
The FAMAS has one the fastest ROF very quick, downsides are there light and not very well made, as in body style, also the internals are an older version of mechbox.
This AEG you can do Heavy modding

-TM G36c
The G36 is one of a most recent guns release, there very duraible like the AK, performace id say is good for CQB, on the problems you will find is you'll need to upgrade the battery, or you may run into battery probelms due to it only takes minis.
this AEG you can do heavy modding

hopefully this will get you on your way like i said there are a bunchs of reviews on THIS SITE and arines airsoft.

I think sometimes us beginners already has subconsciously made up our minds about which gun to get; we ask anyways because we want to hear other people vote on what we've already decided to clear away all doubt.

I don't think this is the case, as different models allow for longer barrels and larger batteries.
Thanks alot RAD_Jackson and 03lourob, that's exactly what I needed. The Saint is right, when choosing a gun it is important to make sure that the gun you choose is the one you want; no regrets. Hahaha thaks again everyone.

The internals are mostly the same, with very few exceptions. The performance is also pretty much the same when the guns are new and un-modified. You dont think it's the case, while we KNOW it's the case.

The differences will be in what you want to do with the gun in the future. Some are easy to upgrade internally, externally, or both. I dont like all kinds of extra stuff on the exterior of my gun, and I prefer classical looking guns, so I concentrated on a rock-solid and proven system. That is the AK for me, or any gun with a Version 3 mechbox setup that does not take an engineering degree to upkeep.

So even if folks are far away, go anyway. 4 hours of your time will save you weeks of guessing. I'm not joking, this will help you a LOT and be fun at the same time.

Profile says you're 17...

Anyways, my AEG is a G&P M4A1 Carbine, whichever you pick is personal preferance on looks (since performance will not likely vary much if at all if its Marui).

Yes, I have no doubt the internals are virtually the same, but I was talking overall gun. Haha, which raises another question: Wieght distribution- does it matter as much as some say it does? (Mainly thinking the back-heavy AUG)
