Angry VSR Cylinder Sticking/Slamming Forward

I'm about ready to break this fuc*ing gun in half.

It's a shitty clone VSR, and when I cock it back, the bolt doesn't want to go forward. It cocks back fine, then it refuses to go forward. When I push on the back of the bolt, it breaks free and slams forward.

I just replaced the piston with one that has a metal rear end because the plastic one was failing under the force of the 488fps spring that is in it. The piston was a tight fit, so I had to file the Delrin rings down a little bit to make it move inside the cylinder freely.

Any thoughts?

you shouldda just lubbed the rings they would have worn in over time and yes it is a worn or broken sear.
there is a cnc steel set available http://www.airsoftparts.ca/store2/in...roducts_id=650
i think those are the same sears i have in my rifle 512fps thousand rounds prolly on em with no issues

You guys were right; the sear had a nice U shape to it rather than being flat.

What I don't understand though, is why it required so much force to push the bolt in. It would almost seem like I damaged the sear by forcing the cylinder/bolt forward or something. I could be wrong..

A friend has a parts VSR that we're going to swap the trigger group with and see if that solves the problem.

Cheers.

Dude, the first time it stuck last night, I was forcing it forward and it gave way and my fuckin hand hit a plastic burr and I ended up with a 2cm long cut on my palm. Needless to say, I was not having it. Basically quit airsoft last night, but I don't give up that easily.

Well I sold my KWA M4, and I got this VSR in trade for some work I did for someone. It looks nice, but has its share of problems. Just bought a new piston cuz the plastic one couldn't handle the 500fps spring, as well as a new mag. Was kinda stoked to play again after 4 months of being out of it, but raged hard when this shit happened.

Ok, so:

1. Pull back bolt.
2. Bolt locks back.
3. Push bolt forward, moves about half an inch then grinds to a stop.
4. Forcing bolt forward forces the piston over the sear and damages it.

This is what I don't understand.

Ya baisicly for a vsr u need piston cylender hopup unit(air seal chamber is the upgrade) hop rubber quality tight bore steel sears maybe a cutom(home made) nub to go on the hop up arm home made or store bought barrel spacer/stablizers and some fine tuning to get a half decent accuracy and range. And some 36's or. 40's for ammo

Try takin out the piston and spring and see if the cylender cycles smoothly on its own
Also leave the spring out put the piston in they cylender and see if you can push it in to the bottom with yer finger
If you cant then you may have to smooth out the rings a bit more wit some fine sand paper
What brand of clone is it?

It cycles fine without any internals. What I don't understand is why the piston gets forced over the sear when I push the bolt forward after cocking it. That's what damaged the sear in the first place.

Depends on what kind of clone u are tryin to upgrade.
The tolerances can be so shitty that the sear wont line up with the upgraded piston.
Does the piston slide freely in the cylender?
Does the sear pop up fully into the cylender?
Is everything lubed well?

Is the cylender bent or dented?
What piston did you buy. Does it have a 45° or 90° lip at the base? Without the bolt in the gun try workin the sears up n down see how they move and if they have play to them
