Exclamation Cool thunder b trick? Need you're help

Just got my hands on some thunder b's, and like anyone else wondered, what if I put bb's inside???? How will the spread be? It is hard to see even with white bb's in the middle of the day, so someone do what I can't do, please! Post a video on my idea because I can't find these anywhere locally.

Get .20 or .12 gram GLOW IN THE DARK BB'S, charge them up with a black light, go outside with black light in hand and press record.

Mabe a good idea, mabe an idea I'm going to recive negative response on, meh.... Ill take my chances... Thanks for viewing and you're replies!
QUATTRO

Edit*** also use 300-400bbs.

bad idea.
bb's inside a thunder b is dangerous.
there are threads regarding this not just on ASC

Also please take your chances at home, and not on a field.

Easy to take your chances when you're asking someone else to do it. Please continue to try it yourself instead, but remember airsoft is supposed to be a safe sport. Don't use this in a fight.
I like to use coloured chalk dust.

I tested bbs in my thunder b before, essentially just a shotgun blast in one direction, very disappointing. Didn't notice it being in any way dangerous though.

I haven't heard of anything going wrong. I guess the idea is that a pressure change may break the base, and send a shard flying off. Bottom line; always follow manufacturers specifications. A small amount of powder may not be dangerous (not saying it isn't), but it has to be something 100% non toxic.

I've heard of people using a bit of baby powder for a cool looking effect.

Putting anything inside a ThunderB reduces the amount of room for the CO2 to expand and therefore reduces the amount of time it take for it to detonate. Meaning, it could go off well before it gets to the intended target or could even go off in your hand (I've seen this happen).

That aside, ThunderB's tend to zip open on one side and/or around part of the top. You have no idea where it will open though. It could very well blow it's BB's into the ground, do absolutely nothing. We've tried them with talcum powder and the colored talc S-Thunder sell and all it really seems to do is mark where the grenade went off and give you a starting point of where to look for it. Anything more than two teaspoons is a waste. We've never really noticed any appreciable "cloud" of talc when it went off, just a little puff. Adding more didn't do anything.

That alone sounds like a good enough reason to put powder in it. =P

I have a friend back in Edmonton that has tried many thing with these things and this is now what he always does with them.:

He paints all of his shells white with a bright pink stripe around them in the middle that way they are easy to spot, even in dense dark bush.

He always puts those shitty Walmart brand .12g BB's in them. He's never had any issues with people saying they are too dangerous to use or that people got injured by them. He never stuffed them with BB's as it tends to waste them and as stated previously decreases the expansive space when they are filled, but throwing 100 or less BB's in at a time has never had any effect that him or I can see on the pop time.

As well, because they only tend to burst in one area of the shell, he did a nifty little trick that actually works very well, most of the time. He takes an Exacto knife and makes shallow cuts vertically on the shell with about an inch spacing between each cut. This means that it now has areas in which it will more likely burst, and usually bursts in more than two. We even had several that burst in all six spots. The only downside to this is the shells burst about one to two seconds faster than normal. He avoids hand burst by simply holding the spoon down as he throws the grenade that way the pin will not hammer the CO2 cartridge until the whole piece is already in flight. He himself has never had any problems with this and several of his friends all use this technique. I personally don't use Thunder B's, but after seeing and trying this technique many times in his backyard (acreage, so quite large) and in little skirmishes, I would say that from personal experience it works well and is safe so long as full seal eye protection is being worn.

Try it out for yourself.

Note: make very shallow cuts on the shell and really try to make them all similar depth or else if one is much deeper than the others it will simply burst at that one spot.
