King Arms Metal M4A1 Not firing/feeding
Hello,
I am very new to the AEG scene. All of my experience is primarily in the 4.5MM CO2 pistol area. However Ive always wanted to try an AEG, I came into some money and bought one. I dont really understand much about how they work and I found the instructions rather vague It is a King Arms metal M4A1. It has whatever mag it came with (I believe they are the HiCaps as they have the wind up wheel thing which I dont fully understand). I tried it out for the first time, and it fired 50 or so shots in both semi and full auto without issue, then it just stopped. The motor still works fine, the gas tube(?) still cycles, and the barrel isn't plugged. Hop up was not adjusted at any point between it working and not working. I can hear a springy clunk when fired which i assume is the sound of it dry firing. when I pull out the mag several BBs fall out, if I remove it while the gun is upside down I can see BBs in the feeder tube(?). I have tried a different King arms mag with no affect. Every once in a while it will fire one lazy shot that lands about 8 feet from me and sometimes it will fire one that hits the target. I am using Ultrasonic Sniper Black Cybergun .20 BBs that I bought from Walmart. Any suggestions on what I should try? I'm sure this has all been asked several times before, and I know how low Noob tolerance is here, so please bear with me, and thank you for the help |

I tried winding it up again. Heard that click (I had to wind WAY more than I would have thought). It still didnt fire, then something locked up inside

May be a broken piston or gear. Have it looked at by a gun tech.

I was wondering if the BBs could have been an issue, but the small amount of research I did seemed to say that they were an alright BB. I also think its odd that they were working flawlessly for those 50 shots, then just totally stopped.. But you're the experts, and I had that issue once with a GBB that worked just fine on one brand of BBs, now it refuses it fire them, so Ill see if I can order some higher quality BBs. I just had the Ultrasonics because they forgot to include the BBs when I ordered the gun.

Yeah the bb's do make a huge difference, just think of it as something else lets say cars ( extreme condition but same concept ) would you use low quality parts on a high quality car?
High quality guns need high quality bb's to make it run good, and with lower quality bb's in some cases you can ruin your hop up and you can also end up ruining your inner barrel,

You might just stripped something or you got a jam... Don`t use cheap bbs they look cheap but in the future it will run you up more cash, the only bbs I would buy if I totally need it fast is the Crosman NEW Heavy .25 the black ones, they won`t jam but you will loose lots of accuracy comparing to BBasterds or other higher brand bbs, I`ve heard that The new crosman .25s are G&G bb quality (NOT SURE)

Well I will maybe see if I can pick up the Crosman's (assuming C tire sells them). I dont want to spend anything on shipping extra BBs if it turns out to be something else.
as for the "jammed up" part, it turns out the battery was just dead. Surely they shouldn't die that fast, but I charged it back up and its working again... and by "working" I mean that its back to simply not firing. These AEGs are a tricky thing to figure out. I admire those of you that have it figured |

You might have just ruined your hopup rubber with those 50 shots and that's why it's performing poorly now.
Crossmans are also shit. Get something decent. |

a.k.a. Fury a.k.a. VipaMave

Is your battery fully charged? If the battery is not completely empty, it will still output enough power to cause a thud (the gearbox trying to turn over) without actually compressing the spring.

I had this problem with my KA M4 AEG. I fixed this issue by buying a Mid cap magazine that holds 70rds and you don't have to wind it up. BTW also buy a speed loader with that.

Try some KingArms BB's and like Poopapoo said, maybe try a mid-cap magazine. Even the KingArms BioBB's work well and hold up much better compared to most other brands, especially in a high power AEG (if you plan on competing).

Take it to a local gun-tech to have it analyzed. It is your best bet and they will usually diagnose an issue for free.

yes they are bad but, they aren't that bad than you think and I found some G&G BBs and they look like they are the same.
