DO NOT order guns from there.
Most parts and magazines are fine.

If you do large orders, they sometimes force you to use UPS as a shipping option. You will get raped by UPS.

I don't know what XZIVR is talking about but that is untrue. Ordered $700 worth of stuff from from them a month ago and they use EMS for express shipping. I checked today and they still offer regular shipping. A $4 hop up rubber costs $5 to ship, a far cry from $40. Please do not post misinformation.

a few months ago they started to use 'ups only' to canada. Everyone got really pissed off, and fast. So ehobby caught on and switched back to regular mail.

You will only get charged duties for orders with a value declared above the duty limit ($60 or whatever it is) if you go via EMS/regular post.

I order from them all the time, large and small orders. I was never forced to choose ups. Getting charged duty seems to be hit or miss. Recently, however, customs seems to have gotten better at charging it.

Thanks, I appreciate that. Let me put it another way: Over the past few months, I, personally, have been curious about one item or another, and added it to cart. When it came to the shipping, the only option available to me, personally, was UPS, for an ammount often in excess of, but never less than, forty dollars. The last time I bought something was probably 6 months ago, and some time after that, i, personally, do in fact no longer see any option other than the aforementioned UPS option.

I just had a large box of parts arrive by EMS, or in other words Hong Kong's version of Express Post. Once it clears customs it is delivered by Canada Post, they brought it right to my door.

This was ordered via the old site. I just did a log in on the new site. It gives me 2 options, express or standard but no mention of what the shipping carrier is. Given the price it sure looks like it's still EMS.

Our team just did a large order a couple of weeks ago and it came EMS, cleared customs in 3 hours and got to us pretty quick.

I've had mixed results with ehobby over the years. As long as they have your item in stock, you're usually ok and you receive your item in a timely manner. And most of the time, the orders are accurate and complete.

But may whatever deity you believe in have pity on you if there's something wrong. Communications are slow and horrible. Try to get it sorted. Keep all records of communication. When they stop responding, the only way to sort it is to put in a PayPal dispute (assuming you used PayPal). That usually gets their attention and they make it right or refund you. And NEVER pay for the rush shipping. They charge you double price, but it could be a week before they actually ship your order anyway, making that extra charge for rush delivery rather moot.

And on their shipping - I ordered a nozzle return spring for a pistol 2 weeks ago. The part was $6. Shipping was via EMS (not UPS) was $39. Yes, $39 for a $6 tiny spring that can fit into an envelope and shipped regular mail. Not cool. However, I added a bunch of other stuff like BBs and other stuff I needed to my order and the shipping price stayed the same. And I received it in record time.

Just know what you're dealing with before dealing with them, and know Canadian importation laws so you know what you can and can't import.

I've always had excellent results with eHobby, personally.

I've never had anything shipped with UPS, although I was warned UPS would be the only shipping option during the Canada Post strike -- however they switched back to their usual shipping options after the postal workers were legislated back to work.

That was the postal strike, yes.

If its still the only option you see you should contact them; I've placed several orders since the stike (one no later than a few weeks ago) and got the same Airmail or EMS option I'd gotten for years.

Shipping fees are not unreasonable with ehobbyasia. It is on par with any other asian retailer.

Don't know where you're shopping. I shop eHobby as my last resort specifically because of their ludicrous shipping charges. I've bought from them many times, and usually I'll pile on several items in my order to ensure that I get my money's worth for that base shipping charge.

I've shopped Redwolf, ebaybanned, Den Trinity, UNC and WGC for the last 5 years. I've never been charged $40 shipping for 1 small item. Granted, I haven't shopped outside of Canada much in the last year, so unless things have changed drastically in the last year, I've never been charged that much for shipping for a small item.
