Helmet styles compatible with half-masks?

After being shot near point-blank in the forehead one too many times by trigger-happy walk-ins at my local CQB arena, I'm in the market for a helmet.

I was wondering if anyone is able to provide some information on what helmet styles will fit compatibly with a batwing style half-mask (the type that wraps around the side of your head and covers your ears).

Example here: http://www.airsoftparts.ca/store2/in...image&pID=1902

I searched around the forums somewhat, but failed to unearth any useful information. Any guidance you are able to offer is greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

Hey Bolt,

I modified my mesh to work with straps hooked up to my strap clips for my rails.

It's cheap and effective. A helmet outfitted with the rails and has the area around the ears clear of helmet should do the job, also what's really handy is that if you want to partially remove the mask without taking off the helmet or completely removing the mask just unsnap one clip and let the mask hang to one side.

I'll put some better photos together to further demonstrate the idea, however here is my AF clone with the strap clip attached so you get the idea. I'm a smoker and this works great for me!

I think the best style of helmet would be a FAST style helmet with the non-ear guard grille. Your goggles normally cover your ears anyway and it leaves room for comms. Or you could just play at games that you can trust people to have trigger discipline.

I've got an IBH (Huang) and a half mesh mask. I put them on in this order.
Radio headset
Mask, a little loose
Helmet, snug
Goggles, ESS turbofan so I can't use the fancy clips so over the helmet

There's enough going on that it all stays in place without the feeling of my face being in a vise.

I originally bought the FAST helmet with the ear protection flaps, but after having it on there and realized that it looked really stupid (it also didn't help that my gf kept telling me they looked like horse blinders). And the fibreglass mask, I normally wear during games, didn't fit under the FAST helmet and wasn't very comfortable. So I decided to go with the mesh lower.

I finished my setup this weekend...

FAST helmet with half mesh mask with ear protection.

I took the original velcro straps off the mesh mask and sewed elastic band material to the mask with the rail clips attached to it normally meant for goggles. You put the helmet on, clip in the mask and put your goggles on and you're good to go. I have the bolle goggles on there in the picture but the lenses keeps popping off cause they're crap repros. I have sinced switched the goggles to a more low profile version that look even better.

In regards to gunsight mandible, unless you are looking to spend something like $800, you're out of luck even when it comes out. I have the closest alternative seen here http://www.combatgearing.com/helmet-...at-p-6800.html

It is a bonus because it mounts to the helmet so there are no straps (something I try to avoid).

I would highly recommend it for CQB however in my experience it gets a little hot outside in the sun.
(bought it from ebairsoft)

I think you can find it by searching for "Greek style helmet airsoft" and digging through the photos....try the bigger ACM outlets and you should find it for sale.

Gonna bump this one from the dead, Anyone know if someone knocked off that op's gear mandible? $450 is bit much for a mouth guard, but I like the look of it, the alternative's are not as nice.
