Specter DR 1-4X

Hello,

I have the 4x fixed SpecterDR and I love it, but I'm thinking of getting the 1-4X... However I know there are several (at least 3, AFAIK) variants on the market. I'm looking for the FDE (bronze) variant.

Some have shitty eye relief, some are fucking gold (like a gangbanger would wear that around his neck), and some are OK.

The brand isn't always specified, so I'm never sure which one I'm looking at...
For those who've handled one:
- What place did you get it? (link would be great so there's no confusion)
- Was the color a dark bronze/metallic FDE, or was it sparkling gold?
- Was the eye relief good?
- Was the mode switching capacity working well?

Thanks!

First of all, there is no true 1X/4X SpecterDR replica

There are around -0.9X/1.8X replica.

That alone should stop you in the tracks.

If you want specterDR replica, get the 4X it's better and cheaper.

Yeah I already have the 4X and it's pretty cool.

The 3 variants all have the shitty magnification?

Been trying to find one with the correct FDE or similar.. all I found was some shit brown/gold and some yellow sand color...

The one that Huang's selling seems like it's the closest colour to the real steel FDE.. it's 300$ though...

At 200$ I'd say "maybeeeee.....", but a 300, I won't risk it...

How is the fixed 4x SpecterDR compared to the ACOG?

I was thinking about getting one too but they are really heavy, and expensive for their quality + they are lots of mixed reviews about them....., so I went with shortdot 1-4x scope instead :P

I would say it depends on the model of ACOG

The ACOGs with the larger lenses have far better eye relief and cleaner and crisper glass. Acogs also tend to be higher up on the rail system so depending on your face/eye protection the SpecterDR may not be the choice for you.

I have heard similar complaints about the adjustable 1-4x that you are looking at ~1.0 - ~2.x with awful eye relief

Well, question solved. I'll stick with my fixed 4X. Thanks everyone for your insight.

I don't think so.... I just painted my whole gun, and the Specter with it (the Specter's color was probably my biggest incentive to paint the gun, lol).

What about this one, look like it would work on a VFC DE Scar...

Still not the correct color for whores like me.

The color varies from a gen to another, but overall it looks like a dark bronze.

EDIT: Seen here on a black M4 to help get the difference.
