KSC Glock 18c Part 258 Issue Solved 2005-07-13

Hello,

I was at a game this past Sunday and after using my Glock (1) all day I noticed that the pin that goes in the butt of the slide to hold the fire selector switch was missing (2). This part missing did not seem to impact the performance of the 18c. It fired fine and I switched it from auto to semi and back again, several time (3).

I have checked all of the Retailers at the top of the Page (4) but none seem to carry part 258. So does any one know if any of the retailers stock this part but do not advertise that fact?

Also does any one have any advise on how to prevent this from happening again?

Thanks for your help in advance,
BiffTheAncient

1. KSC Glock 18C w/ Metal Barrel and Slide
2. Part 258
3. I guess pressure from my thumb stopped the fire selector from poping out.
4. Canadian and International Retailers.

You may be missing part #259 aswell if the pin just fell out becuase it is held in place by a small grub screw (#259). You would have to remove the rear sight to check. I may have both parts you are looking for aswell. I will have to check my shop for them.

OK.... I have consulted the Part List / Diagram and I see what you mean. I\m pretty sure that part 259 (1) is still where it should be as the the rear sight is still in place.

Does part 258 (2) have a flat spot or other feature that engages the end of the part 259? If it does I may have misaligned them causing part 259 to be loose and prone to flying out under heavy recoil.

Thanks

1. The grub screw under the rear sight.
2. The pin that hold in the fire selector switch.

Yes part 258 does have a slot that 259 fits into and they have to be aligned properly.

Thank you all, gentle men, I've got the same matters. I'll check the #259 grub screw this evening. Although the #258 has been very loose but I have not yet lost it.

For my appreciation, I share with you some more shops which supply the damn things
