The guy who posted mentions the MADE IN JAPAN thing. I wonder if japan ever purchased some xm-177 for their special forces or if it's just a replica or an Airsoft? What do you think?

It's an airsoft replica.
The term "CAR-15" covers all of the early short barreled variants of the M16; the airsoft "CAR-15" is in fact a Colt Model 607 which never went into major production. A limited number were purchased by the US Army under the designation GX-5857. Non military versions are marked Mod. 07 / Mod. 07A / Mod. 07B. Within a year it was superseded by the Colt Model 609 and 629, the XM177 series "Commando" rifles, which did see military service. The model 619 was the Export version of the 609 and they were built in the US.

@Drake: I didn't know you liked Vietnam gear so much, I always figured you for a modern day army guy
I'm thinking of buying an XM-177 airsoft, wich is best in regards to look, G&P or CA? Any other suggestions? I love that M60D, I wonder if their's a way to build it for Airsoft, with the magasine box on the back? Quote:

I dont have much knowledge of M60 ammo box technology. Do you think a longer tube would misfeed or break the mechanism in the ammo box? |

I own a G&P, works great. That being said, everyone else on InCountry has a CA and theirs are fine for the most part.
The G&P doesnt have the barrel ring on the flash hider to mount a 203 but the CA does. |

The 11.5" barrel is nice though, maybe they'll introduce a model 733 (for the BHD fans) or 933. http://www.bbdragon.com.tw/popup_ima...D=2804&imgID=0 still has the potential to be sexy
