ICS M4A1 multi-role weapons setup?

Not sure if this has been asked about in the past - i didn't see anything in M4 related threads that i've read so far..

I've got an ICS M4A1, model no. ICS-20 with the retractable stock. I've gamed it now 3x, and just love it. That said, due to physical issues, I'm pretty much restricted to stand-off defensive roles at this time, which is ideally suited for a longer barrelled, more accurate stand-off weapon. I'm not really sure i want to add a completely separate weapon platform to my mix, considering the game style that i am playing right now.. it likely wouldn't be justifiable in terms of overall usage. I am more than satisfied with the ICS M4's current performance out of the box.

The one thing that i certainly do like about this ICS, is while it is largely proprietary parts that are being used, there is good interchangeability/modularity of the M4 platform within the ICS family.

Right now, it's equipped as OEM, with a bi-pod, 4x32 scope and vertical foregrip, based upon the M4 14.5" barrel. With the bi-pod and vertical foregrip mounted with a bolt-on weaver rail onto the plastic foregrip, it's flexing and popping .. i'm not sure it's going to last a real long time. The next move would be to replace the plastic foregrip with a proper RIS foregrip, and since i'm losing the battery storage in the aluminium RIS foregrip (and don't like pec boxes) a replacement folding stock with the battery compartment inside. Neither the current scope, nor the bi-pod really suit this rifle's barrel length - it works, but it is a compromise, swiss-army knife solution at present.

My thought process is this - set up an ICS based M4 modular weapon platform - if i go this far, and make the rifle good for CQB/close to medium range usage .. why don't i just take the spares/what doesn't really work as well as it could, and build up a second upper, based upon the ICS MA-104 A3 R.A.S 18.5" upper body kit, suitable for stand-off/defensive use, and for quick changing out of the upper section of the rifle on site, according to the type of game/scenario/environment/role, and my mood at that point of time?

At present:

Proposed setup:

On the current 14.5" upper
- an ACOG of some sort.
- ICS aluminium foregrip RIS and vertical foregrip.

On the proposed 18.5" upper body kit
- 4x32 telescopic scope.
- folding bi-pod.

Shared components
- Retractable stock with battery storage as a unit with complete lower receiver section.

Has anyone done this before? Those familiar with ICS - does my idea have any holes in it, that i haven't though of, or thought through?

Thanks, and sorry for the length of the post..

Edit - sorry, this maybe should have been posted up in the modifications section..
