CA33E with new gearbox
Hi,
I recently bought a Systema gearbox V2 for my CA33E. I had to open and dissemble the hole gearbox though to switch the selector plate since the systema one was for an M4. It was was the first time that I tried to open a gearbox but I did watch many many videos before doing it (mostly the one from mechbox.com which is extremely detailed) and I am honestly quite positive that I did everything properly. The reassembly went well but now, when I pull the trigger nothing happen except a small click that leads me to believe that the motor try to spin but cant for some reason. I have re-opened the gearbox at least 2 times to make sure everything was properly installed. -The shimming seems good -The alignment seem good -the motor spin well when not connected to the gearbox -The small click I hear when pulling the trigger seem to indicated the motor is trying to spin so the wiring must be good -I even tried to motor of my KWA M4-S1 just in case the CA one had a problem. But still the same results. -I tried a few battery. Same results Thanks for your help |

Did you do the shimming or are you using the factory's shim job? I'm asking because if the bevel gear is shimmed too high, you'll get binding on the pinion gear which the gun won't fire. I recommend re-shimming the gears to your motor and grip. When something is too tight, the clicking sound is common. Another tip is to lower the motor height all the way down and slowly turn it up, until you feel resistance. And start your adjustments from there.

I had this problem with my ca33e but it was my own tom foolery that caused it. The anti reversal latch was installed incorrectly. It made the gears lock the wrong way. I also had this problem (motor click) with my mp5k but that turned out to be a dead battery. But you seem to be confident that you put it all together correctly. It's got to be a shim problem. Do the gears spin nice and easy without a lot of friction sound?
