Are CA Motor Pinion Gears removable?

I mean, obviously they're not supposed to be, but is it possible to remove them from the motor without damaging the rest of the motor?

The reason I ask is that I bought a mechbox in which the bevel gear doesn't match up with my motor's pinion gear, but I do have a pinion gear that will...I just don't know if I can replace the existing pinion gear without mucking up the motor.

Anyone able to help me out?

d shape pinions have set screw, usually. the o shaped ones are pressed on and you have to use a puller.

puller not needed a little ingenuity works fine. I drilled a recessed hole in my bench vise that perfectly fits the pinion then all you do is take a punch and GENTLY hammer the shaft down. Other methods are vise grips gently grip the lower part of pinion and place on edge of table and agian gently punch the shaft out agian. on a side not catch the motor before it hits the ground. for reasmbly you need a stablized pin for the bottom of the shaft and tap the new pinion on. if you only brace the com housing you will wreck the motor.

Pinion gear pullers are super cheap. You want to make sure you use a press of some kind to install the gear to prevent damaging the motor shaft.
