How To Remove AK Furniture

I recently bought an RPK kit for my Kraken. I"m wondering how exactly you remove the forward handguard assembly. I already know the stock and pistol grip, but I'm not entirely sure how the get the forward grips off. I'm assuming you remove the two screws in front of the mag well to drop the bottom and the top part unscrews from the gas tube. Is that anything close to right?

Ah, so the entire barrel assembly forward of the gearbox detaches for modification.

Thanks everyone! And I have stopped back yard wars a few years ago, no worries about that. I got straightened up on here awhile back and now I understand. This video was about one and a half years ago. My knowledge has expanded since then!

I thought I recognized the YT username as an ASC username but then I was like "no it can't be, must either be a coincidence or a similar username I was thinking of".

Anyways, I'm not afraid to say that was actually a pretty well done video itself. Only thing I'd suggest is maybe revisiting it and doing it again but this time on a desk with a camera closer cause it was honestly a bit far and hard to see, it's also a bit hard to hear you but it may just be the speakers on my laptop or the mic on the camera/camcorder not getting a good voice pickup.

PS: Good job pwning that CODmaster kid using logic and physics. Although I would say don't use white lithium and instead use FinishLine Teflon lube from now on. This is why: http://www.arniesairsoft.co.uk/forum...owtopic=194617 Granted white lithium is probably an improvement from the stock gunk that can barely even be called lube but FinishLine appears to be a lot better.

EDIT: I'm going to overlook the whole backyard battles thing. We were all stupid in our youth and apparently I'm still stupid according to my ex. But as long as you got set on the right path and learned your lesson. Although apparently I haven't learned my lesson or figured out the inner workings of a girls mind, and calling her out on what she's thinking is a no no (all I said was "You've already decided in your mind that I'm the bad guy and that I'm 100% totally in the wrong and you're right therefore this is a losing game and the only winning move is not to play").

Back on topic; the video doesn't actually show how to take off the hand guards like the poster asked. Luckily its really easy.

With the AEG flipped over, pull the cleaning rod out from under the barrel. Take out the grub screw under the gas tube and slide the tube forward. The hand guard retention parts will come with it.

The upper hand guard should come free. The lower hand guard has a short pin that holds it straight. Just pull it slightly away from the body and remove.

I apologize if I missed a step; this all comes from the top of my head.

Ah, okay. That's significantly easier to do than stripping the whole front end off.
