TM Glock 18c Metal slide upgrade
I just installed my new PGC metal Slide on my TM Glock 18C,
I did not change the recoil spring, I just read that there is another recoil spring available: Guarder 150% Enhanced Recoil/Hammer Spring does it make a real difference on the kick and recoil? if someone experienced it, it would be great to have his feedback on that. thx! |

I haven't upgraded my TM Glock 18C yet, but because you've upgraded to a metal slide from a plastic, it's recommended to get better springs too to support the heavier metal slide. With the upgraded springs, it should make your shots more smooth and crisp.

I changed it to metal because the front of the plastic slide began to cracked. This is mad because the snap of the TM G18C was really good! Now with the metal one, I lost about 5-10% of the snap, but still accurate. I have needed to rack the slide during 5-6 min. like in full auto, to get it smooth. The stock plastic barrel don't fit, I had to installed the metal one that comes with the slide.
is is necessary to change the hammer spring that comes with the recoil spring 150%?, what change the hammer spring in the recoil operation?? thanks for your answer Last edited by waltherglocksmith; April 8th, 2011 at 13:20.. |

on the KSC glock, the spring upgrade really gave me a great solid kick, I personally considering an excellent upgrade for the feel of things.

However in colder weather it's better to have a stock recoil spring because depending on the temperature the gas might not have enough oomph to blow back the slide the entire way to load a new BB. Also it's good to change back to a stock plastic slide if you're going to use it in colder weather, but the cold weather discussion is an entirely different matter. The hammer spring won't do much, I'd recommend just leaving it out. Last edited by Styrak; April 8th, 2011 at 16:01.. |

Update:
received the guarder 150% spring this morning, installed and test fired it. Test with the PGC metal slide upgrade. Facts: 1- increase dramatically the rate of fire (speed) in full auto. 2- better handling feeling of the slide, (when manipulating the gun, not firing) (spring stronger) 3- Did not increase the kickback snap feeling, little weaker snap feeling compare to stock spring. conclusion: Good upgrade if you are using a lot the full auto (much more fast operation, so better rate of fire) Not needed if only using semi-auto (little weaker snap into the hand) I don't know if others that have made the upgrade on their G18c got the same conclusion? |

Quick question: Where did you get the extractor for use with the metal slide? The PGC metal kit only includes the slide and outer barrel. Sorry, I'm new to Glocks. Thanks!

should've came with the kit. It's in a little resealable plastic bag. Just installed my PGC kit the other day. The extractor is probably one of the most annoying parts to get into place. Mine didn't fit properly.

My PCG slide came with a seperate little extractor piece that you need to fit into the space on the side of the slide before you reassemble it.
I found the if you put a little grease on it before you put it into the opening, it will slide in better, and it stays in place when you are reassembling the slide.

Hi, below is my TM G18c with the PGC silver slide. Looks kinda lame compare to black one but thats the only option I found online. No modification no nothing, take out the TM factory one and slide this one right in. Real simple, takes less than 1 minute if you have the tools.
For turorial, see this vid: marui glock 18c install metal slide - YouTube When you're done, just put some grease on. It runs smooth and caused me no problem at all. Feels like PGC slide is made for it. |

I was actually following this video as i was installing mine. Very thorough video. Well done. Looked at the hammer spring video as well
The fit on PGC set was weird. The selector switch was very tight on it but once i broke her in, seemed to be ok. |
