Deans to Tamiya adapter?

Hey all I have yet another dumb question lol.

My buddy picked up an M4 with a crane stock, it has deans plugs, the wire on the bat was all worn and broken in two places, the question is would it be a bad thing to leave the gun as is and just make or find a adapter tamiya to deans then he could use most bats say in a bat bag, or will the extra bit of wire and miss matched plugs really effect the orperation? i dont think its would be a huge issue as guys use adapters like this for R/C's and lotta chargers charge diff bats with adapters like that too

thanks in advance.
also anypplace in etobicoke to buy the lil connector bits to build said connector or should i kill some old bats and chargers to make it up?

You could do that, but Tamiya is a pretty mediocre plug. You'd be better off with a deans-wired battery.

If I were you, I'd just get some deans plugs and rewire the batts. It's pretty easy; anyone with a soldering iron and some google-fu can do it.

ya i got the soldering ability and such was just not wanting to do something dumb lol, mainly he wants to test out the gun we have no charger for a deans and the bat is a mess anyhow, so i was thinkin he vcould just use one of my bats if we had an adapeter for now, seems like thats what ill do for now, plus i thin k the bat i seen at army issue was tamiya so thatll work for the mean time.

thanks!

You can just use alligator clips to charge the deans. That's what I do.

or hey, maybe make an adapter for the charger!

Convert all of your batteries to deans. they are the better option over the large and mini connectors. Plus, if you ever play the same games I'm at, I usually have spare batteries in deans. lol

And, as a bonus, having a gun deans-wired is a plus when you try and sell it.

If you have decent soldering ability you can make your own deans to tamiya converter. Useful to have around.

wire it to deans. saves fucking with the large/mini shit. got pissed off at one point and swapped everything i had to deans.

any rc supporting hobby shop should have 'em. i get mine from a model plane store. (they sell lipos too witch is ever so convenient )
