ICS M4A1 -Shooting alignment problem-
Hello guys,
i have just received my new ics m4a1 (full metal version), played it tonight for the first time and i have a little trouble with it, so before doing anything i want some of your good advises. So, here is the problem : - The gun shoots straight with a very constant 325 fps with 0.25, very nice grouping too, but it looks like shooting on the right side of canon (it give the impression that the canon is not in the middle of the gun), it's impossible to adjust the sight even if i put it at the maximun on the right. I have tried to play with the hop up but it doesn't change anything as the problem is a "side" problem. So i'm going to open it to see if the canon and the rubber is well installed. Any other ideas ? Suggestions ? Thanks guys

I assume by "canon" you mean "barrel".
If the inner barrel is not centered in the outer barrel and is wobbling in there, you can apply some electrical tape or something similar around the inner barrel, so that it stays in the center. |

If your familiar with disassembly/reassembly I would suggest you look it over carefully, it may be a very small thing, a skipped thread, or a tab in the incorrect position. If you're unfamiliar with the proper way to safely disassemble/reassemble I suggest looking for a local gundoc in the Stickythread "Calling all gundocs" Please note any work you do yourself you do so at your own risk of injury or further damage to your gear. (I need to make a disclaimer link or somthing....)

Thanks guys for your answers, and yes by Cannon i mean barrel.
So i will check if all is correctly installed, with the split gear box it's pretty easy to check the upper box. I'll be back with more coments after that if it's still a problem. Hope it's just a problem of assembly... Thks again!

if the gun is shooting to te right, and you are right handed, you would have the rear sight to the left.... you could check that first.

Well, i have opened the upper gear box, disassembly the inner barrel, checked the rubber in the hopup, all seems to be ok, all is at the right place and well aligned.
After the reassembly, with the hopup at neutral, the gun is firing right and now seems to be firing straight and not on the right BUT if i try to adjust the hopup i have some missfired, sometimes shoot 2 bbs at a time and sometimes the bbs are just dropping from the barrel... So i guess the problem is from the hopup, i'm thinking to change the rubber, do you have other ideas ? Thks guys

What kind of bbs are you using?
I've had jamming problems sometimes occur when crappy bbs are used too... Happened to me on some madbulls that got dirty, which made it crappy T.T

I have tried it with bbs bastards 0.25g and Bioval BBB 0.25g - Same result with the too kind of bbs.
With my other gun (who is an ICS too, i have no issues with those bbs).

You must have assembled the hopup incorrectly. Maybe you should let someone more experienced look at it? |

i get a little bit of double feeding. it started when i made some changes aswell. i changed the nozzle, inner barrel and rubber.
not sure if you changed anything else. i'll shoot some rounds today to see if it only happens when the hopup is on. |

I have changed the rubber and the inner barrel and everything is fine now, the gun shoot straight and in the right alignment! The hop up works fine too.
The problem was from the rubber, the stock rubber was a little bit damaged/deformed. I have just changed the barrel to put a precision one. Thanks guys for your inputs!
