M4 30 round Metal Mags for AEG

Hey Guys,
Hoping someone can help me out here, I've been really interested in purchasing real cap mags for my M4's so that I can get a little more realistic feel for when I game.

I am having a hard time finding metal ones. Anyone on here purchased some before and know where you can get them from?

Thanks so much,
Metzler

Easiest ones to find would be Star 30rd mags but they are plastic. Really Really hard to find that count in metal, closest thats easy to find is 68rds.

Get 68rnds ones, open them and insert baboo skewer in the last strech of the rail. Brings down ammo count to about 35, perfect for realcap since you loose 3-4 every mag change.

i have the star ones. they are plastic but are very durable. i drop mine without second thought on a quick change. only issue, at least on my gun, is i have to hold the mag up a little bit for them to feed, not a huge deal, cause i find it comfortable to hold the gun there. not sure if there is a fix for it, i never tried cause i didn't see the need.

I find that the star mags don't feed in my classic army, u have to hold the mag in order to feed like bareass said.

I would just go with metal mid caps and just put 30 rounds in it

Usually a little bit of electrical tape wrapped around it to make it fit a little more snug in the well helps with that.

I trimmed the end of the catch that retains BBs on my KA mags. That way if the mag hangs down the catch is still pressed far enough back to feed.

Otherwise you get the first run from when you put the mag in and then it stops feeding till you tap it up.

I thought there was a guide somewhere on here with pictures on this.

Is there a guide to open up the magazine? I kinda want to do this to my mags now.

Havent seen one, but its pretty basic to open them up, once you slide the plastic insides out of the metal houseing, its typically 5 to 6 screws then the 2 halves come apart. just do it slowly so you dont lose any spring when splitting the halves.
