g23 upgrades
hey all,
I may be buying a g23 to use with a Roni carbine kit. which, from what i've read, should fit (can anyone confirm this will fit?) i thinking of putting in a longer inner barrel. wondering if there is one available for the kjw 23, or at the very least, with an inner barrel for a 17 work? |

The KJW Glock doesn't use a standard GBB inner barrel, however I found out with mine that a Glock 18C AEP inner barrel will fit. It's only an extra inch and a half or so though (don't remember the exact length, but it didn't stick out all that much).

The one I tried is this one:
http://shop.ehobbyasia.com/pdi-6-05m...-g18c-aep.html And it worked fine, so there's no reason the 6.01 shouldn't work. Note that I haven't gamed my G23 with the PDI barrel. I was cleaning it out and noticed that the barrel looked a lot like my AEP barrel, so I installed the AEP barrel, fired a few shots, took note that it worked well if I ever planned to put a silencer on it, and put the original barrel back in.

awesome man thanks.
like i said, i want to use the g23 with a carbine kit (is supposed to work, but nobody confirmed it yet) and use the long barrel for the extra range. this would be my primary for cqb/indoor games. |

just need a threaded barrel... have anyone used those clamp on ones?
they look like they clamp on the inner barrel. seems like it would be a lo of stress on the barrel |

KJW sells a threaded barrel for the G23, it's around 30-35$.
If it fits in the carbine kit, I wouldn't know. But keep in mind that the KJW Glock 23 is not a very accurate pistol. It's comfortable, easy to clean and has a great blowback, but the hole in the slide for the outer barrel is way too big. The outer barrels moves a lot, and the inner barrel moves in the outer barrel. It's possible to fix this with some tweaking and a lot of tape, but I would not consider to use it as a primary. The KJW G23 is good if you just want a pistol in your holster for emergency, but its bad accuracy means it's useless at anything but close range. Actually, since I got my hands on Marui pistols (and even some cheap WE), I have never used the G23 again. If you want a good primary for CQB, get an MP9 or another small submachine gun. It's a lot more versatile and in the end will probably be much cheaper to buy and maintain.

Not sure it's gonna help that much, I would tend to think that the longer barrel will still move around and ruin your accuracy. Other people are more knowledgeable about this than me though.

thanks for your help man, i'm looking into my options.
my problem is i can't justify buying a gun that will only be used for cqb, i'd rather have a side arm, that can be used as a primary in cqb games... kind of a 2 birds one stone situation. |

I play CQB with a pistol as a primary all the time. Either a Marui 1911a1 or a Marui Glock 18c AEP when it's cold. One great pistol can be both a secondary outside and a primary indoors, just don't cheap out and buy a quality one. :)
If you REALLY want a carbine kit for a pistol, there's one for 1911 pistols too.

Have you considered the Marui Glock 17? There was a thread recently asking about what was the most accurate pistol that wasn't a 1911/2011, and lot of players praised the Marui Glock 17.
