Custom Build Help - Full upgrade - TM MEU/NightWarrior Variant

I've been in talks with a bunch of people and have had everyone point me to multiple directions in terms of pistols, but there isn't one that I loved more than the TM MEU styled ones. I know many people may disagree but that's my personal opinion.

Since I'm not familiar with pistol parts I thought I'd ask the community for a little bit of help on this build. Here is what I'll put on the table.
- Budget = none
- All the best quality parts possible to ensure longevity, accuracy, consistency, and durability of the gun (hence no budget)
- All metal frame (pick best manufacture)
- Must shoot 350 FPS or lower with .20g BBs
- Must be based on the TM MEU/NightWarrior/Dessert Warrior style
- Must accept TM MEU/NightWarrior/Dessert Warrior mags
- May use existing TM MEU parts (only if necessary)
- Barrel length must not exceed outer barrel (no extended inner barrel with silencer)
- Please list manufacture and part name so I can easily find a place to buy it.

Remember.. I'm a pistol noob so point form part by part would be fantastic.

Thanks,

Blue

If price is no concern:

- Nova frame
- All Nova controls
- Nine Ball Dyna Piston Head & Floating Valve Spring
- Action Power Up Cylinder Bulb
- Nine Ball hop up rubber (for power), or Firefly hop up rubber (for accuracy)
- PDI 6.01mm inner barrel (for power), or Tanio Koba Twist barrel (for laser straight shots)
- KM High Flow Valves
- Airsoft Surgeon Nozzle
- Guarder 150% Recoil/Hammer Springs (MEU-02)
- ILLusion Kinetics 3 hole adjustable trigger
- ILLusion Kinetics Trigger Stirrup
- ILLusion Kinetics Hammer Set
- Nitesiters or Daysiters

As for where to buy... I have most in stock. You'd have to do your own footwork to find all that stuff elsewhere.

I'd also recommend reading this thread:

The last couple pages of posts is regarding a build very similar to yours.

I'd replace Illusion's Airsoft Surgeon Nozzle with a SD one but keep the rest....

Also for shits and giggles, get a set of these: http://www.uncompany.com/pageproduct...sp?prodid=7746

It allows you to use RS grip screws....

And since you are building 1911, a nice set of custom grip panels are a must.

EDIT: Note the bushings are made for Nova kit(I think PGC also).

Sweet thanks a lot Illusion.
Matt/Brother Grimm from ECO had mentioned that you'll have 90% of the stuff available. I've also gone through the thread and gathered scattered bits of info, but I'm a noob when it comes to a pistol parts so thought I'd just go right and ask the question.

Thanks again =)

That is actually a great idea since I'm not a big fan of the standard 1911 grips aside from the Hogue wrap around grips. Just feels more solid in my hand. Gives me more options for grips now =)

Opinions differ for that. I know you've had your bad experience with the AS nozzle, but I've installed over 40 of them and haven't had any complaints yet.

The description says they're for Prime kits...

But yes, custom grips give that final finishing touch. The only downside, is you will lose the grip panel weights.

The bushing works for Nova kits, lets just put it that way.

Aside from the NOVA frame... what else from that list will I have trouble importing or getting a hold of?

Everything should technically be okay, but I've seen the most ridiculous stuff seized by uninformed/overzealous officers before (springs, for example.)

Just took a look at some 1911 Nova frames and was wondering if how much more of a pain in the ass it would be to get a m1911a1 kit vs a MEU kit with this setup?

I've never built a Nova MEU-based kit, I think they are actually "slightly" different as I've heard stories of people who bought one of their 1911 kit and used a MEU as a base and had more issue in terms of fitment. Maybe Illusion can clarify that more. I believe their BBU on the rear sight area is made differently.

Personally I'd try to stick the base gun with the specific kit.

Also.. your thoughts on the PSG kit? (only because it is easier to get than the Nova kit which I'm having a bit of trouble with ATM)

If you're going to build on a Nova frame, I would HIGHLY use a 1911 base if you are going for a final design that is not MEU.

There are minor differences in several areas that will give you a fair bit of grief and headache doing the conversion, particularly if you are not familiar with GBB work and metal working in general.

PSG kit? Do you mean PGC/Pro-Win?

If so, I personally prefer the Nova kit over the PGC kit. The PGC has a weird slight-semi gloss deep purplish colour compared to the matte black of the Nova.

Also, the fitment of the PGC kit was not as good as the Nova. I found I had to omit some parts and add a Tanio Koba slide spacer to get better fitment.

Anyways, making kits work is part of GBB conversions, regardless of how good the kit is. Some will require it more than others. Nova also needs a bit of filing on a couple of parts for fitment. I've found I generally had to make these changes to the original Marui internal receiver frame that fits in to the external frame.

What is your difficulty in getting the Nova kit?

Alright, that sounds cool. It gives me a better idea on where to start from as a base and a better understanding between the two PGC and Nova kits.

I've also read up and seen some guides (most of which are from you) on some key areas that require a better fit and that shouldn't be so much of an issue with me.

The difficulty with getting the Nova kit is that they are non-exsistent in Canada. So getting them in from outside is my issue. If you can give me a hand and can point me in the right direction this will be a good start considering without the frame I've got nothing to work on. I'm one of those guys who would rather have it done 100% right or not at all.
