Marui VSR (550fps 0.2)
Hello!
This is my first post, and I have some questions were I haven't found satisfactory information. I want to build an VSR with 550 fps at 0.2gramm, with good precision and hope you can help me. Innerbarrel: Is 430mm OK or is it useful to buy 700mm Laylax Bullbarrel and install 550mm Innerbarrel ? Is the difference between PDI 6.01 and Prometheus/Laylax 6.03 that big ? Hop Up: Is it useful to change or is the standart marui hop up good ? Wich rubber do you recommend for 550 fps with 0.2 ? KM, Firefly, King Arms, Nineball ? Internals: For internals I am interested in PDI parts, I think its good quality. But there are 3 different sets. Wich is the most useful for 550 fps ? http://www.airsoftglobal.com/shop/in...oducts_id=7450 http://www.airsoftglobal.com/shop/in...ducts_id=10908 http://www.airsoftglobal.com/shop/in...oducts_id=9846 Trigger Unit: I would also use PDI, is it OK ? Is the safety still working after installing a new trigger unit ? http://www.airsoftglobal.com/shop/in...oducts_id=7449 BBs: Is Bioval 0.30 ok ? Please tell me your opinion if you have experience in improving Marui VSR. Maybe you can also tell me, if I fogot anything. This is my outfit I use for skirmish, I only need a good rifle YouTube - Military Ghillie Suit YouTube - Ghillie Test |

You forgot one thing. You won't be allowed to use this rifle unless you are a lvl3 certified sniper and 18+.

Here in my country its allowed to use spring cocking with 550 fps.
I know that I have to be very careful. Btw. I am 22, my english is bad because its not my native language |

User is not from North America.
So standard Canadian information does not apply.

I am from Austria, and only understand german or english. I thought in a big forum there are maybe more people with many experience in tuning VSR.

A Laylax PSS10 170SP VSR10 Spring should help meet your fps requirements.

The TM VSR is a good platforme for sniping. Good luck!

I've tried both the HD and VC of the palsonite set on my L96. I found that I was able to get a lot more consistency with the VC than the HD, but it was relatively close even at 150 feet +
the rest I am unfamiliar with in the VSR so I'll let others answer that for you

Q: Is 430mm OK or is it useful to buy 700mm Laylax Bullbarrel and install 550mm Innerbarrel ?
A: 430 is good... 500mm is optimal for barrel to cylinder volume matching.. 550mm requires a VC piston, bore-up cylinder or barrel porting to be efficient. Q: Is the difference between PDI 6.01 and Prometheus/Laylax 6.03 that big ? A: Without a doubt... YES. If you have the money, buy the PDI 6.01. Q: Is it useful to change or is the standart marui hop up good ? A: Do NOT change out the standard hopup. The Marui is one of the best of not the best available for a sniper rifle. Q: Wich rubber do you recommend for 550 fps with 0.2 ? KM, Firefly, King Arms, Nineball ? A: The stock one will hold up but if you are worried about it, I would buy either the Nineball or the Firefly. The firefly can be a problem if not aligned properly but when it is, it works good. Just make sure you buy a "hard" compound if you are worried about durability. Q: For internals I am interested in PDI parts, I think its good quality. But there are 3 different sets. Wich is the most useful for 550 fps ? A: If you are going to use the 550mm inner barrel, a Bore-up set is a good idea. Palsonite or not is up to you. Its just a coating that helps prevent corrosion and make the pull smoother (not by much). Ideally you would probably want a Bore-up and VC combo with a 550mm barrel. 500 and below its not really required as the cylinder to barrel volume is fairly well matched. Q: I would also use PDI, is it OK ? Is the safety still working after installing a new trigger unit ? A: Go with a PDI trigger, for sure. There is NO safety with the PDI trigger. I cant really help you with the BBs. I have never used Bioval before. I would suggest a heavier BB than .30 for 550FPS but they will work if that is all you can get. Th only thing I really see missing is barrel spacers. Get a bunch of them. 5 or 6 atleast if you are going to run 550mm inner barrel. My set up is as follows: PDI Cylinder Set (Barikaru Compo Piston) PDI V-Trigger PDI 430mm 6.01 10mm OD Inner Barrel 6x PDI Barrel Spacers PDI 130 Spring (~400FPS) BB Bastard .30g BBs As you can see, I like my setup at about 400FPS. The only things I would change to get up to 550fps would be the piston, to something more durable, and the spring. Hope that helps. |
