Brand new AEG won't fire.
Hi everyone. I just recently got the G&G SCAR L from buyairsoft.ca. I know they are not a popular company around here, and I know that I should have just got AVed and got something from here. Lesson learned.
On to the actual problem. The battery is fully charged according to the smart charger that came with it, so I put it in the gun, switched the gun to semi, pulled the trigger and nothing happened. The battery is connected right, and the charger is supposed to be able to tell if there is something wrong with it, which means the problem is isolated to anywhere after the battery connector. Can anyone help me diagnose this problem? Also, I haven't opened the gun up to check the wiring yet as I'm not sure if it would void the warranty. |

Your best bet would be to contact buyairsoft.ca, if you're still on the warranty, to get it replaced, they might have sold you a lemon :O

Check your fuse, check your leads onto your motor *in the handle*. If its beyond that try and return it for a replacement/refund. That could take a while though so try those two things first.
also I do not know if its like the ak47 but make sure the second plug is plugged in... again not sure if your scar has that or not *it would be down the wire from the battery usually where the wires leave the stock and enter the body. |

Make sure all the wires are connected properly, a wire might got disconnected from the motor during shipment or something.

Ok, I'm going to try to type a terrible diagram that probably won't help at all but it might. The way the circuit works is:
The stock has two parts. The part that extends with the butt plate come completely out of the stock, holds the battery, the fuse and two female things that receive prongs. Then there's the part of the stock that's attached to the receiver, it has two prongs that go into the removable part that allow it to work while being extended, they then go into wires that go through the front of the stock and into the receiver, allowing the stock to fold. In the removable part battery> fuse> female receiver thing. This then go to: Part affixed to receiver Prongs> wires> receiver. This is about as far as I can go without opening it up and everything so far looks in working order. I'm not sure what I can and can't do without voiding the warranty, but changing the spring will, so I'm assuming if I can see the gearbox I've gone to far. I don't know if this helps at all but I tried. |

Filling in your location would help. This way you could be directed to a gun doc if you aren't able to figure this out.

The thing is I don't want to have it opened up if it would void the warranty, and also, I would rather send it back and try again, telling them to make sure the next one works before sending it, than pay someone to fix something that should have worked out of the box anyway.

open the fuse box and see if there is a break in the metal, if the answer is yes, blown fuse.
check the fuse before you do anything else. |

I've checked the fuse, it seems fine.

Probably the wire connected to the motor fell out, unscrew the 2 tiny screws on the bottom of the pistol grip check if the wires are still connected if one fell out just reinsert it, if they are still connected then remove the wires and take out the motor and reinsert the wires into the motor with the motor out and press the trigger to see if there's a response ie motor spins, if nothing still happens then it's a wire problem inside the gearbox.
