WE m4a1 gen 3 front set G&P compatibility myth?

Hi guys,

I'm purchasing a m4a1 gen 3 from Velocity Arms and I wanted to try and switch up the front end of the gun to something more original.

I heard a myth that certain G&P front sets were compatible with WE's, apparently easily compatible with a certain delta ring part.

Is there any chance someone knows of a resource that lists front sets and ris/ras rails that are compatible with WE?

I wanted to hopefully install this front set

or perhaps any of the SR-25 style X range ras kits.

That's for an AEG, the only mainstream GBBR it could be made to fit it the KJW.

And G&P does make front sets for WA only so don't even think about taking those

Ya I figured it was a myth.

I was frantically searching google for any asian forum that might have people who have catalogued what fits and what doesn't.

I came accross a thread where people were saying how they supposedly managed to get WA G&P front sets to fit on the WE with slight modification.

I'm looking for front sets that will WORK even if it means a little modification.

I'm great at tinkering and I can manage to fix simple mods as long as its nothing ridiculous requiring CNC machines or welding work.

What front kits do you guys know of that work? (I know theres a few on Toronto airsoft that are listed as "we compatible" and i was going to buy the MRE style front set but only if I cant find anything better)

I heard on that thread about the G&P kits that perhaps VFC or Knights Armament front kits might work, is that BS as well?

I've done some work on modding AEG barrels to fit the WA M4 but I have not done any for WE M4 as yet, but I can tell you it would be simpler as less precision and material will be bored out.

The last picture below was a Madbull PWS barrel for an AEG, I chopped the end off with a mitre saw and used a 1" diameter shank to bore out the center with a drill press, in your case with a WE you will need to remove material for the brass sleeve to fit.




For the WE outer barrel, you will need to:

• Machine the end off
• Widen the diameter for the collar clearance
• Drill two holes at the 3 and 9 O'clock positions and insert 2 roll-pins, this will act as the 2 protruding notches you find on the stock WE barrels.

Hmmmm well I don't have precision tools which could bore anything.

I guess I will stick with what is "we compatible" on velocity's site for now, until further developments are made with WE modding.
