M16A1, what's your thought? TM or CA?

Hello!

I would like to put my hand on a M16A1 airsoft gun. It's just I can't decide what brand to go with.

I've heard Classic Army is good, but sometime can be lemon and are not fully TM compatible if it brakes. Also, the Three-Prong flash hider is just wrong (but easy $12 fix) on the M16A1 model since it also has a Forward Assist. Should be a Birdcage style. Metal body yes, but wrong color and Armalite (right term?).

G&P are the model to go with but is simply out of stock everywhere Is it discontinued?

Tokyo Marui is a good and reliable brand, but has a plastic body. Also, I've read somewhere the body and front set is from older version and is not compatible with Metal Body I would like to install on it. Is the info still true?

JG is wrong on many detail. So it's a big no.

Would you go CA or TM? :-?

How is the CA not TM compatible? They're TM clones.

Well honestly I have been told it's 100%, while some other say they are not 100% depending the model. My knowledge about airsoft gun compatibility from brand to brand is pretty limited still.

I heard CA had slightly different sized internals ie cylinder head? I guess thats why some aftermarket companies make "CA" cylinder heads and "normal" cylinder heads. IM NOT SURE though no personal experience.

also you realize how BIG an M16 actually is right? dont mean offense, but my friend wanted an M16 but later realized it would have been WAY too long for anything CQB.

I'd take the CA in a heartbeat, my first gun a TM M16 Vietnam (m16A1) It's the earliest M16 they've produced, is incomparable with any of the after market and is a huge clunking piece of crap! (most of them are almost 15 years old now lol)

Go for the CA

But, does that mean Classic Army M15A1 is prone to be problematic on upgrade since TM M16A1 are piece of crap for being 15 years old model like Amos says... ?

No. CA's have metal bodies, one piece metal barrels, etc.

I own an old CA M4 and most if not all TM compatible parts still fit and work (Look at my sig). I'd say go with CA because it's cheaper to upgrade the internals than looking for a metal body for the TM.

I do beleave the CA M16 is loosly based off the Midwar version. the Trades are incorrect, but Vets tell me mine is pritty damn close to the real thing.

Ive worked on 2 CA M16VN's and my results/findings from these are to STAY THE F AWAY from Classic Army...

I have one of the earlier TM VN's with Hurricanes discontinued, very rare Metal kit, the best VN you can get. But you cant get either anymore.

So, secret option number 3, G&P as Vince said.

#1 is G&P, CA is your next best
unless your a seasoned guntech your really wouldn't notice the minor differences in the CA mechbox, it's like 97% TM compatible so you can slap any market parts in there without any problems
