G&G L85A2, What about em?

I like bulpup guns and the Famas F1 was my first, i recently sold it and i know i want a L85 and i have someone that's selling one, and i just want to know what anybody else knows about them. I've looked around and there is lots of talk about the ICS brand but none about the G&G L85, things like reliability and quality as well as what type of batteries are best used, and if it's worth the buy. (I'm thinking 9.6v 1400+mah) and if anybody owned one how much did they pay for it?

I would go with the ARES L85... it's alot better than the ICS or the G&G. I had a ICS L85, the only problem was the piston for me.

IIRC, Redwolf did a review on the G&G L85. Check youtube.

I have the ICS l85 and i've put 10k rounds through give or take. I am a beginner with airsoft but I have done reviews for 5 years so i'll try to cover what i can think of and know.

I like it its fairly accurate and consistent. Spring broken in shoots 370ish on lowest setting and like 420 on highest. Easy to take apart and switch takes maybe 3 minutes to do the whole thing. It has a large connector but i don't have a good large battery so i'm using a 9.6mini and I get 17 rps(ICS 3000). The stock magazines are fine. Gun is solid, like it wont break and its heavy to carry so if your weak i'd avoid it but after awhile you get used to it also because I wasn't used to bullpup that also made it harder. Its quite quiet. You can't upgrade it easily because of some proprietary parts, I havn't had any reason to, it could perform a bit better with accuracy but its not a huge deal it performs pretty well. I tested it shooting 500 rounds non stop and it had no issues. best thing about it besides takedown time and adjustable spring guide would be consistency(great wiring, bearing spring guide and good seal). Accuracy could be better (any gun stock could) if I used .28 that would probably help but .25s at 370 fps is pretty good.

Now for the price it depends I do not know about others l85s, im plenty happy with mine but i think where it counts is I am sure i'll be happy 3 years from now when its still performing. However if something does go wrong im not sure how easy replacement parts from ICS are to get.

Anyways thats what i think about mine.

Oh battery space, a large 9.6 3000mah would fit for sure. Maybe even 5000. I paid 500$ The one from websites is 550$? or soemthing exc shipping and taxes(13% HST is it?)

If you get an ICS L85, unless you're changing the spring/hop up rubber, KEEP IT STOCK.
They get ghosts so easy from any sort of internal tinkering.
And a lot of upgrade parts aren't compatible, no matter what you hear.
Edit: Oh yeah, your piston will explode so put a TM stock piston in it and THEN keep it stock. Lol.

i was watching a few reviews on the G&G L85A2 and one video mentioned you need a special battery here: YouTube- G&G L85A2 review 4:30/8:15 can anyone confirm if you actually need a special battery? or can i use a mini type connector battery and use a adapter or just change the mini type connector with a Large type connector?, if it's even plausible to change the connector on it.
I found another video here: YouTube- Airsoft GI - G&G L85A2 Full Metal Blowback AEG that says he uses a 11.1v battery because it's small enough?! so i guess it's just size i could just buy a mini type 9.6v right?
