closed and open bolt refers to the same thing as with real steel, IE GBB M4 and AK are closed bolt and GBB M11 are open bolt

So when the guys are referring to the WE M14 being a closed
bolt,it will function like the WA M4 platforms when you take the mag out and pull the bolt back, you see right through the mag well? Like RS and no brass tube.

that ONLY applies to WE system, in all other circumstances its referring to the same thing as RS, the WE system variants really SHOULDNT be called "open bolt" and "closed bolt" but it just stuck

Not quite I don't think, since guns like the KSC M11 or something is actually a "open bolt" airsoft gun like the RS open bolt, in that when its cocked, the bolt is actually open. Regardless of the WE version or any M4 GBBR, they all actually shoot from closed bolt...

I run an Open bolt WE/AWSS KAC PDW and it's a beast, no brass tube pretty realistic lot's of kick and it's pretty loud (this will get you singled out and targeted in games eventually lol) but you need high quality heavy bb's for the gun will have quite a few catastrophic jam's, it needs high quality bb's to feed smoothly, and heavy to they won't get bounced away when the bolt rams them forward into the barrel, if they aren't both of these the round's will jam everywhere even get in the trigger assembly and could cause damage.
I don't know about the brass tube's but I heard their much more reliable although I have no problems with my PDW aslong as it's properly maintained, lubed and cleaned with high quality BB's it's rather quite intimidating to the other player's lol Last edited by Assault Pioneer; August 2nd, 2010 at 15:04.. |

So if I understand you guys correctly, the WE M14 for
distribution in Canada has the brass tube over the mag like the WE M4?

OP in airsoft Open bolt= no brass tube, you can see into the chamber, realistic closed bolt= brass tube structure in the way, you cannot see into the chamber, reliable |

like i keep saying, that definition, ONLY applies to WE, not to any normal gbbr system, so it is incorrect if it only applies to one brand of gun, we are talking about the actual function of the guns in general

So these have brass tubes, the WE M14.I had seen a
picture of the WE M14 with a see through mag well with no brass tube, this is why I asked. So there is two models of this gun then.
