For gearbox mods I don't know much about, but the S100 will get you maybe 350 FPS or 360. Better off to go with a 110. |

The pmag are the only one airsoftparts have so i think they are Madbull green label... anyway; will try them and see for myself... I already ordered the parts.

If you want, come see me when you received your parts. I have built a few ICS based rifles and most part will fit with very little modifications.
You want to get the newer white Modify piston with the first tooth removed (I think they call it high speed). A S100 will get you to about 340 fps if you have a VERY good airseal, but most probably around 320... rule of thumb is (M/S x 3.3)-20 = FPS will be a decent estimate... Keep the stock hop-up chamber, but upgrade the rubber to a Guarder clear or Prometheus purple. It is possible to install an aftermarket metal chamber with some minor modifications, but the stock ICS chamber is way more efficient. PM me if you want to drop-by... I am in Longueuil... if you are still in Brossard for now. You should end with something similar to this, minus the G5:

I bought the purple Modify piston...Hope nothing wrong with this one? The other as you say was for high speed gear. For the hopup chamber i knew it was proprietary to the ICS. Prom soft rubber were out of stock sadly but will order some next time (ICS one will have to do for now.) Thanks for the offer but i'm quite able to do all the mods myself (did it on most my brother and my personal aeg's) and that's what i like about airsoft... playing with the gearbox and other components. Never been to a gun doc since i started the hobby. Anyway should have my parts soon, thank to Jugglez incredible mail service!

In my experiences, the stock cylinder and piston heads sealed great, just putting a modify nozzle on increased compression to perfect. I recommend the ARS hopup rubber, and a tightbore (I installed a Systema). A bearing spring guide is also a good plan. Can't comment on the rest of the externals.
Also the PMags should fit and feed well, but be aware plastic MAG mags do not. Also I love the hop-up unit. I've worked on many styles of guns and next to the TM M14 it is my favorite. The above comments were meant for the cansoft version. |

I have the full metal ICS.
I used mag brand plastic mags on my old ICS M4 and never had any problems with them. I plan to buy the hopup rubber in my next order (with a couple others parts i forgot to buy). The only thing that worry me a little is the installation of the magpull grip... KosMos???

The magpull grip is the easy part.
You have to grind 1mm on the front section where it meets the receiver. When you try to install it without any mod, there is a 1-2mm gap at the top and it does not sit properly. When you do this, you might also have to enlarge the motor hole a little bit to let the motor slide in the mechbox perfectly. The hard parts will be fitting the stock and DD RIS on it. If you are lucky, your ICS rifle will have metric treads. If not, you have to rethread the upper receiver for metric. Either with a dremel and a lot of time, or with a die. You also have to modify the buffer tube holder prong. The small tabs on both sides are made taper in both axis. So you have to file the rear part in width and each tab in thickness both sides. If you don't, you won't be able to use the buffer tube that comes with your stock, and the ICS tube is known to be a tad bit larger than most others. You can order upper receivers and spare parts from blazingtoys.com and speedytoys.com. Both have a decent inventory. |

Thanks
For the installation of the Daniel defense; Does the ICS have the same upper receiver threads as the g&p has?

Sometimes.
If you have an old Olympic Arms one, yes. If you have the newer Panther Arms one you have 50-50% chance. I don't know yet for the Colt one... The one in the picture was an Olympic Arms from 98...back in the days. I had to work the treads to fit the Madbull Noveske 10" rail on it. There was no "Standard thread adapter" when I did it. As for the MIAD/MOE grip, you will have to try. Basically, when you fit it, the surface that hits the receiver first has to be grinded down until the grip fits perfectly. Then you have to look into the grip to see how much you must enlarge the hole, usually towards the back (since you just grinded the front of the grip). Takes about 1h with a dremel, but do the final touch with a fine metal file. Gives a strait edge and smooth finish. |
