Tokyo Marui or Foreign Legion FA-MAS?
I'm thinking about picking up a FA-MAS. The only ones I know about are old Tokyo Marui and the Foreign Legion/Cybergun version. Which one is the better buy or is there a better version made by another company? I would really like one with a metal body if one exists, but I know the two I mentioned have plastic bodies. I certainly am not interested in a cheap gun.
PS I don't want to know where I can buy one yada yada

Well, the real famas is polycarb, hence all the airsoft versions are plastic. And since you don't want a cheap gun, that pretty much limits you to the TM version.

Ah, I thought they were metal. How are the internals for the TM Famas? I've heard that the Cybergun is arguably a better gun than the TM. I don't know much about either but I find that hard to believe.

I haven't examined the cybergun one. Personally I don't like rail on the front of it, and I've heard the body is no better than the TM one. However, I've been told the motor and mechbox are better.
Having said that, a stock or lightly upgraded TM FA-MAS will last forever. The one I had was the most reliable airsoft gun I've ever owned.

I own the cybergun brand Fa-mas and I have not yet had problems with it. The Tokyo Marui brand is very close to the cybergun brand Fa-mas but for the best bang for your buck i would go with the cybergun brand Fa-mas, you'll get the same amount of metal and plastic parts, the only thing that changes is the power velocity and rate of fire. Although the tokyo marui Fa-mas has a higher rate of fire then the cybergun, cybergun brand boosts a higher velocity and range but the tokyo marui is far more accurate. but if you're worried of the rate of fire put 9.6 V battery and the rate of fire is greatly increased. really if I had the choice I would go with the cybergun again because it's the same as the tokyo marui brand and it's a lot less. I don't feel the need to upgrade anything in the cybergun brand besides slapping a 9.6v battery in it, while you would need to in the tokyo marui brand because they are under powered. That's just my 5ยข. If there is any spelling or grammar mistakes blame it on speech recognition, I'm trying it out and it's a pain in the ass but I'm sure all get used to it.

no no no he means the Famas F1 not the Famas G2. The Fa-mas F1 is the A.E.G. version of the Fa-mas it just came out this year and is surprisingly nice compared to other products they have. Stock TM Fa-mas to Stock Cybergun Fa-mas i would go for the Cybergun. with a moderate amount of upgrading to the TM it will be comparably better but not anything that's worth that much time and money.

The FA-MAS SV isn't a G2.

Take the TM FAMAS over the crapsoft cybergun...the internals are crap.
But if you can't afford a TM, i'm pretty sure JP makes one go for that instead of the cybergun.

There's a few other subtle differences. The G2 has a bi-pod and the swivel sight, as well as takes STANAG mags and not famas mags.

Cybergun doesnt make guns it's a re-branding / licence holding company. the JP model IS probably the Cybergun model.

The Cybergun Fa-mas is probably one of Cybergun's best yet, and yeah the JP and Cybergun are pretty much the same from what i can tell by looking at specs and reviews but I've never handled it.
