Pistol Rail interface system
Hey everyone.
just bought a cheap beretta M9A1 and I want to pimp it out. I was thinking of adding a RIS and maybe a laser underneath and a red dot on top with a useless silencer for the front because I can, but I have two questions. 1. No one seems to sell the Rail interface systems for pistols. you know what I'm talking about? do you guys know where I can find a good but inexpensive one, and if I cant find one whats my other option? 2. If everything works out what are my holster options....if any. I dont want to have to sling this awesomeness around my shoulder just to field it in a fight. keep in mind there wont be anything on the side of the frame. |

If you want a rail on top, you could install one of those sight mounts that are usually used for IPSC. If you want a bottom rail, see Ex's post. Honestly, don't do it - holster options basically don't exist (perhaps IPSC type holsters might fit if you don't add the suppressor), and carrying something like that would just be a pain in the butt. Plus, a Beretta isn't usually a highly tuneable pistol, both in RS and in airsoft - it wouldn't be worth the trouble of pimping the externals only.

I hope you're not intending to use your pistol as a primary during a game; if so you're going to be disappointed pimped-out-cheap-pistol or not.

when I said cheap I meant inexpensive. I bought a KJW Beretta M9A1 for much less than the retail price. basically I just wanted to it as a sidearm but I may end up lending it to my girlfriend when we go out with my friends. I don't want her feeling left out so i was gonna make it look cool for her. in reality I would take off the silencer for my side arm. IPSC huh? I'll look into that.

There are some rails that you can mount to the frame, but you need a metal frame for that (the KJW most likely has a semi-clear plastic frame, right?). |

indeed
you have convinced me to not bother with doing most of these upgrades. I'm still probably gonna get a flashlight for the thing though. and the threaded barrel just because I like options. Last edited by Axemetal; June 17th, 2010 at 01:42.. |
