KSC mags

I'm not sure if I should put this in the Doctor's Corner since I'm not sure if this is normal or not. Anyway, I've noticed that all my KSC mags (and only the KSC ones) will spew gas like mad when you fill them and then spew even more when it's full. None of my KJ or TM mags do this (i.e. no gas comes out). Is this normal for KSC mags? Or do I have really bad luck with KSC mags? o_O

Only spewing I've found with KSC mags (all I own for gas mags except my M700 mags) is the spurt of liquid gas out of the filling valve when the mag is full.

Pretty much all TM mags do that (due to the two-way valve)

What Stalker described is what I get with my other mags, but only my KSC ones spew gas while they're being filled and then spew even more gas when full. I'm going to borrow a friend's adapter to see if it makes a difference.

Not sure if it applies to KSC mags but one of my TM 1911 mags use to do that.. all I did was tighten the hex screw under the mag. Not sure if KSC has a screw under the mag though.

No, no screw under the KSC mags.

I did, however just noticed that the fill valve on a KSC mag is wider than most. So it could just be the seal between the adapter and the fill valve.

KSC G18C mag, KSC M1911A1 mag, KJ M9 mag

you could be overfilling them. and thus they will bleed off until correct pressure is reached. if it stops after a bit and you get the full mag off + extra shots after, then its all good. and i just noticed u dont have the rubber in the valve, which doesnt make much difference other than said spewing of gas while filling.

New ones I've gotten don't spew while filling, just a spurt at the end, but after a while they do spew gas during the fill. I have 9 G19 mags and 4 Mk23 mags, only the newer ones do the former ^^^ while all the rest do the latter. Is rather annoying and messy.

check for o rings in the valve, if there is one expect it to spray when full... if there isn't one then it will spray a bit while filling and then will increase in volume of spray when full. that all said n done, it would be best if you got the timing down to fill mags untill just before it will be full for the most use out of your bottle, but other than that its all gravy.

6 seconds will fill my KSC 1911 mag to 1 or 2 shots over the 14 round mag capacity. works like a charm.

On another note, I lost the rubber in the fill valve of one of my mags, and it does the spewing-while-filling thing, but is it just an o-ring? or some other little design of rubber? I tried cutting out a little o-ring out of a rubber screwdriver bit holder, but it still does the spewing-while-filling thing. so, o-ring? or other?

I'm pretty sure I'm not overfilling since it spews gas when I'm filling from empty. But the missing o-ring could be the problem. The only thing is, all my KSC mags are missing the o-rings.

I guess the newer ones have o-rings in the fill valve?

ya just dont worry about it. KSC doesn't swell their o rings into the valve so they all fall out after time.
