KJW P226 - Hammer not cocking back enough

I have a KJW P226 with a couple of issues. Most important is that when the hammer is cocked it is about 1/8" above where it needs to be to be clear of the slide.

This causes all kinds of problems with the slide getting stuck. I see inside the sear (or is it the knocker?) that holds the hammer back is not high enough to hold the hammer all the way back.

Question 1: How difficult is it to take that section of the gun apart?

Question 2: Are there any tutorials/ diagrams on the web to help me with this surgery?

Thanks for any help you can give.
