My Take on the Airsoft Claymore.
Greeting Everyone!
So I was dicking around over the past few days, got bored and wanted to try something out. I got sick of seeing everyones homemade claymores, or even store-bought claymores that just use weak springs to throw a fistful of bb's in the enemies direction. So I remembered back a few years to the airsoft grenades Atreyu (Lets not get into that can of worms) used to make with my assistance, and distribute. I really like the shock and awe effect granted by those grenades, with the effective range and power. Using the basic premise, such as the same type of charge and basic materials used I made myself a claymore. For footage it can be viewed at this link. YouTube- Airsoft Claymore.m4v Its only a prototype at this point but Im thinking of reworking its design and making it more effective, and less 'shitty' as in poorly constructed. Range on it seems pretty decent, and power wasn't too overwhelming, AND still offers amazing shock and awe effect. Just wanted to know how the ASC community feels about this. |

Yeah... the smoke, fizzle, and fire might give the claymore's position away...
How do you set it up with a trip wire? Or remote?

Well it only being a prototype my next design will have a lip, and small chamber which hopefully conceals the large flame, and all the smoke. I had no idea how this claymore was going to react or handle so, there is alot of work to do in regards to hammering it out. As for trigger device, the prototype in the video was just a fuse I lite. My next one will have a remote detonator (Which should help cut out some smoke and flame as well).

Your right most the actual claymorers I have seen were less than spectacular. although I did see one on redwolf that looks decently powerful. Yours is a nice home made unit, a little long on the smoke and flare (I would have time to GTFO) would be a danger on the field I play at. Its in a dry area, actually the whole southern province. Not enough moister we do not aprove of any fireworks or fire crackers.

Feel free to add any additional comments how to improve its design, or things that may help. Always looking for insight on how I can make it more effective.

Smoke and flame are from your fuse, I presume? Use an electric ignition system; not to mention it would work a lot better with either a clapper or a tripwire.
Who's the chick you're hating on, your ex? lol (the target)
