DD Rail Identification
I supposedly bought a JG M16-length free float RIS unit along with a bunch of other stuff from Velocity Arms' reseller My Toys. When I opened the box, I found some sort of clone Daniel Defense rail (says Lite Rail 12.0 on the top).
I'm trying to identify what brand produces this rail -- and I've so far been unsuccessful with mounting it on my JG M16, as it the 3 piece outer barrel stops the rail's thread base from screwing on. Fits fine on my WE M16 though (wasn't my original intent to mount a rail on it). I'm fairly sure it isn't the SocomGear one since the rear screw plate has 2 fins on the top -- which doesn't seem to be present on the SocomGear one. I can't find any similar products on the Velocity Arms website so I'm just throwing it out there to see if anyone has one / recognizes it. |

Actually the "Fins" are the body alignment tabs and they are present on the Socom gear DD MK18 RIS and on the real one.
Is the gas tube hole filled in or is it open? The SG ones are closed off.

Gas tube hole is open. Notice that all of the ventilated holes are uniform (same size on entire rail). I noticed on the SG and RS DD rail that the side vents have larger holes -- and the top vents have smaller holes.

That looks like ACM made. Looks melted near T17.

That is a ACM no name. The socomgear is a VERY cleanly built gun. no ugly welding marks like Hitman descrived at T17.
Socom does not have the holes cut into the top rails |
