Its a crappy chinese replica. Just like all the other crappy chinese replica radio's. They have abysmal range and are usually twice the price of a gmrs and often are not capable of being programmed and often use crappy batteries. GMRS radio's are cheap and effective and often produce better results and ranges. Considering that 99% of the time your using a PTT to communicate and your radio is stowed in a pouch the "look" of the replica is defeated.
For the price after shipping for this you could buy the replica headset/ptt for much less and purchase a good quality Motorola GMRS and still walk away with change in your pocket. Also if you have a friend you can buy the "pairs" sets of GMRS and split the cost with a friend who also plays. Then again, just my opinion. Also the bowman style headsets with PTT's are not that expensive for the replica's. Thus your paying almost 70 bucks for a replica radio... Not worth it. Doesn't have any specs at ALL on the radio.
I'd say avoid it. Get yourself a nice 5 watt radio. They can be had for $80-$100. |
