Anti reversal latch importance?

The spring on my anti reversal latch just gave out. Is it really needed to prevent damaging the motor? Can I go without it?

Yes, you need it.

Won't damage the motor so much as it will be a complete pain to operate your AEG because it won't cycle properly

It's not that it won't cycle properly. It's possible to run a gb without one however, It's for overcycling protection. Let's say you double tap on semi. If the first shot cycles foreward 110% (momentum), the spring is loaded and will try to uncompress. the Anti-reversal latch prevents the gears from releasing the spring and piston wich will turn the gears in a reverse direction. That way your second tap doesn't get greeted by gears spining in the wrong direction. You COULD instantly destroy your gb.

Yes. It is absolutely 100% required, with out it a small black hole will open up on your bevel gear and the entire universe will be flipped inside out.

(It's in there for a reason. Don't be cheap, get a new one.)

opening the Sig is not the worst gun I've opened and the alternative could be a lot more $$$ and time.

option 1: do nothing now, spend cash and time later.
option 2: spend time now, do nothing later.

Ah, brings back the memories of NoobLord and an almost identical thread, when he was a self-proclaimed "gun doctor".

Hehehe.

Everytime I open up my sig something else breaks. I tend to get stressed and to rough with it when putting it back together. Case in point I just replaced the spring for the latch and my switch assembly cracked in half. Never any problems with my other guns.

I was about to say something about deja'vu

But yes, just do it, it won't take too long and then go back to whatever it is you do with your free time, if you want to bitch about taking things apart, try an M14 or anything made by Dboys (That shit just WON'T stay in place long enough to put back together)
