Maruzen CA870 - broken loading nozzle
EDIT:
Situation has changed, first problem has been fixed, I now need a loading nozzle (the part that pushes the BB's from the magazine to the hop-up chamber). If you know where to find one OR have one for sale OR know the PART NUMBER for this part, please let me know! Thanks! Quote:

Pretty much the only thing inside to break is the piston head/nozzle assembly, but they are hard to come by. I haven't seen one for sale online at retailers for a while.
It actually sounds like the pump rails have become disconnected from the piston assembly to me. It's a pretty easy fix once you open the mechbox up. It's also one of the biggest flaws of that gun - plastic pump rails that hook into a plastic piston. I said years ago that if someone could make an aluminum piston/nozzle assembly and aluminum pump rails, these guns would be almost indestructible once you put a metal body on it....

Thing is, I already invested in a metal body, long G&P front set and stock... that's why I don't want that gun to die on me so soon since I invested so much money into it...
By the way, my pump rails are metal (the thing that goes from the pump foregrip to the body, if that's what you're talking about). But I think you're right, when it stopped working, I had a stange feeling when I pumped it, like if the pump handle disconnected, like you said. But I don't see how this could cause the trigger not to release the piston? I got the tool I needed to open the searbox, but I'm affraid to do it since the spring is compressed (I can imagine the piston slamming forward and breaking the cylinder/nozzle or piston). Any idea on what I could do to make things easier when opening? |

As a freebee, here's a couple of sittes I had bookmarked from years ago. I traded my CA870 a few years back, but it may help you in assembly/disassembly: http://web.archive.org/web/200503231.../Ca870cqb.html http://web.archive.org/web/200502041...aw870_tech.htm re: The G&P long set - I had the same one. It's beautiful, but unless they changed the machining, the inner barrel is 6.10 inner diameter....yuk! Contact Dee's Custom Barrels and he can make you a 6.01 barrel.....

Well thanks... I managed to take care of that problem just to have the loading nozzle break on me... From what I understand, I'm pretty much screwed now, am I? The worst thing is that the mag was not even fully loaded with BB's so I can't see why this suddenly broke.
Any ideas on how I could get replacement parts...? or just make some king of ''ghetto modification'' to fix that problem? |

I temporarly repaired it using some special glue. It's been holding fine for about 50 rounds but I don't know for how long it will last... EDIT: (I glued the 2 parts of the loading nozzle together)
I also made a new magazine using some random parts so it can feed the BB's even without the loading nozzle, in case the glue dosen't hold up. In case someone wants to try it out, I just bypassed the nozzle using an old loading rod, a magazine spring, a homemade mag follower and feed lip. when I insert the tube in the magwell, a rubber spacer holds it in place by friction, and the BB's are fed directly in the feed hole. Sometimes it will double/triple feed and the tube only holds 12 rounds but at least that is pretty much bulletproof, althought unpractical. If the glue dosen't hold, I'll try to make an ''upgraded'' version of my homemade ''magazine''. |
