farmboy, will the HSGI D/L Holster with flap fit a hicapa? im not concerned with draw speed, but of property loss. its very easy to drop a hicapa mag.

Yes I'm pretty sure the HSGI holster will fit it, however if I can hook up with someone in the area I can confirm that for you.

the Hicapa mag will be less prone to fall out if you put a strip of tape on the back of the mag. But this takes away the ability for the mag to free fall.

I had my G19 mag fall out one day, luckily I was able to back track for 20mins and found it in thick brush. My G19 was in my CF issue shoulder holster, somehow the mag release got hit and the mag fell out. I prevent this by using innertube on my grip, makes for a most excellent and secure grip on the gun, but it's long enough that I can pull the front end of the inner tube over the end of the mag which secures it in place until I want the mag out. If I need speed reloads, I just fold the rubber up out of the way. Foolproof method of keeping mags from coming out, and also gives a great feel to the gun. And doesn't look bad at all! |
