For those interested in the subject I just finished a great book on Executive Outcomes (the first modern PMC to my mind) by its founder and owner Eeban Barlow. It really gives great insite into the field and has good war stories and pics to boot. I highly reccommend it:

Executive Outcomes Against All Odds: Eeben Barlow: Amazon.ca: Gateway

Now where to start for that EO impression...

What type of contractor's are you trying to be?
Blackwater where they just pack as much as possible or along the lines of Aegis where it's super minimal and dealing with the loc's and what not.

I think they use the PSD (private security detail) denomination instead of PMC.

the ones from Spartan use fully armored CIRAS and tan stuff like that in Irak.
The ordnance is mostly bought on site so it's mostly AKs and PKMs.

For EO I'd say try & pick up some african camo shirt & trousers, they pop up every now & again on ebay, or tropical DPM although OD BDU's would suffice. As for webbing say a Rhodesian or SA chest rig or assault vest OD or brown (nutria), for weapons best go for an AK or derivative. The kit I would say isn't that extravagant, keeps overheads down! EO was most definitely a PMC, most current PSD's would I expect agree upon the difference, EO undertook offensive operations & military type missions against the rebel forces rather than simply protecting assets. (& a bloody good job they did of it too!)

Thanks for the tips gents. I think I'm starting with some Rhodesian camo and badges (1st African Rifles) then gonna work in some 32 Batt. insignia and go from there. I've already got lots of AEGs, so the problem is camo and webbing.

Any tips on sources for Rhodesian camo would be appreciated.

And do read the book when it comes out, it is a winner.

http://cgi.ebay.com/South-African-Ar...sid=p1638.m122 32 batt boonie

I'd also check out French lizzard pattern as it would fit in too.

If you're interested in another interesting book about EO check out
http://cgi.ebay.com/SOUTH-AFRICAN-AR...QQcmdZViewItem The author was actually with EO during their ops & flew in the front seat of one of the Hinds during a combat mission!

Lets see my buddy I work with in the Government use to be a PMC for 5 months, and the gear he carried was like normal 5.11 Tactical stuff.

http://www.chiefsupply.com/home.asp

Thats a very good site for clothing and gear that suits a PMC, you can basicaly put things together by looking threw the site, I know my Department buys a few things here like gloves and handcuffs because of the deal.

Hi Guys! This is a late post but I want to share some inputs.

I've read and I've quote from some other site

"PMC's are not allowed to wear any form of military bdu's to avoid political conflicts"

So much better if you use Khaki Tactical Pants.

I'm a PMC load out fan, but I'm short on some gears.

Things I'm planning to get

Black or Brown Shirt or Round necks
Khaki Tactical Pants
Tan Chest Rigs
Tan Delta Boots
Tan Knee Pads
Cap (Blackwater)
Brown and Black Shemagh

m4 Variants, but since I'm an AK Fan, Planning to get the VFC Aims

Good start, see White_Knights thread in the Airsoft Media section called "new pmc loadout" or similar. Our personal PMC items are in there.
