What is wrong with a RIS mounted M203?
I do like the look of that rifle, minus the PEQ. Not a huge fan of them. And besides, I don't want a ton of crap mounted to the front of my rifle. I figure an M203 would be plenty. |

I'd say don't worry about the M203, it just doesn't suit the long RIS. However, I would suggest a telescopic stock. Pick up a mag pouch from CPGear or someplace for the battery and run with it. Then an Aimpoint on a cantilever or ARMS mount and your laughing!

Almost always will be playing outdoor. Hence why I didn't buy the CQB version.
I was thinking about a crane stock, but we'll see. I need to sort out some type of sight first. I read that the M203's were not very effective. But they look so damn cool. |

if you like you can get the crane stock dummy 203's and store the battery in there.

Here she is after paint and an Aimpoint.
I have not decided whether I will take off the front sight or get a high mount for the Aimpoint. Any suggestions? ![]() ![]() On top of my plate carrier with a mag in. ![]() |

You should move the aimpoint down to the end of your receiver. I find you don't get tunnel vision as much that way.
Overall, it's a sexy gun. |

kos is right, if its too far back, it cuts of your peripheral vision.

I like it where it is. I usually shoot with both eyes open anyways.
The front sight has to come off. The dot in the aimpoint is right in the middle of the front sight. So its either take it off or get a high mount. |

Your best bet would be to get a high-mount (wilcox style, or LaRue style), and leave your irons in place (front/rear). Don't get caught with your pants down ![]() |

My C7 (and nearly all of them in the CF with the exceptions of new Elcans off the line) has the rubber "battle sights" on top of the Elcan broken off. Sure the battery in the Aimpoint could die, but I wont get killed because I have no red dot when people are shooting plastic bb's at me. |

Most guys I know in A-stan aren't using the elcan for that reason. It's a piece of shite from a combat marksman's standpoint. |

I do agree with you. The Elcan is right up there with the tac vest. They are as useful as a sack of wet cats. And when I go on roto next year the tac vest will be left in my kit bag. I'm not in the infantry so I have no need to change my sight - however crappy it is because I won't be kicking in doors.
But, this is not the real deal and it is just airsoft. If my Aimpoint dies on me during a game, I can walk off and change the batteries in it and be ready to go for the next. Be it I was in theater, I would not think twice about having a backup sight of sorts. |
