But there are reasons they say no, I'll admit, it sucks being told you can't have things, but there are reasons :P

Priority of issue is Task Force, Infantry, Engineers, Artillery, Armour, Training Centers, CSS and Signal units then everyone else. Reservists may have to wait a little while as the first batches will most likely go to Reg Force Infantry units as these are the guys who will get the most use out of it as well as deploying task forces. |

Still no integrated and molded (Crye-like) knee and elbow pads... I'm sad.

Hey my Combats will still work and untill I need to exchange them I wont. My Wo, trialed the new uniform in Meaford and says that it is a drastic improvement on the current issued Combats.
The only thing I can see is with the Velcro on the shoulder pockets... I can see some Colonel or RSM wanting to put patches on them... ~Infidel

I'm sure compromises for appearances sake had to be made and in consideration for other trades who don't require such protection in their everyday work. Integrated knee/elbow pads would look dorky as fuck in garrison.

ICU... Is it just me or do the guys in charge of this project have a subtle sense of humour? (Most likely a coincidence, but still.) Last edited by MaybeStopCalling; July 9th, 2011 at 15:42.. |

US camo speal: The US Army brass finally there heads out of there a$$es and are now issuing OCP (Multicam) not just the limited use UCP (ACUpat). I've seen Repro multicam work and I mean WORK, the guys that were using it really should of used a sniper's veil or shemagh because their faces are what really what gave there positions away. I've played with and against faded ACUs (reproes, I think), they didn't help at all.
Canadian camo speal: CADPAT (temperate) is great for a speed paintball field type areas (playing paintball with local Canadian Rangers and JCRs), but it's not that great in other areas, the pattern seems closer to the 19th(?) century brightly colored coats for IFF, the arid pattern is more effective in the Afghanistan desert. other speal: Digital camouflage, from my understanding allows it to be more effective at closer distances, if it actually is that's up to you. I just wonder if it would be a good idea to allow a list of approved combat uniforms/camouflages that the individual soldier could buy, while also have a supplied uniform for garrison on a Canada side base and other events that MUST have the soldiers looking exactly the same not just similar enough to ID as Canadian (and hopefully a friendly), or if a soldier can't/won't buy they own uniform. It could keep costs for new uniforms down at bit, and allow soldiers to buy possibly better working uniforms. I DON'T KNOW about all this stuff, don't flame me, I'm just stating my ideas, and opinions.
