Hop-up Rubber being weird.
Decided to switch out my metal hop-up with my stock plstic hop-up for my own personal experimentation, and I came across a slight problem.
The hop-up rubber doesn't want to go into the hop-up itself. This is only with the new one that I have (I recieved two). The name of the hop-up rubber in question is the "Mad Bull 60 Degree Normal Bucking Hop-Up Rubber".
To make sure it was indeed the rubber sleeve, I got my old stock rubber and put it on the barrel, and inserted it into the hop-up very easily, very little resistance. When I applied the MadBull rubber sleeve and tried again, I was faced with a lot of resistance. I didn't want to just force it in, because with my luck, I'd end up ripping the sleeve clean in half.
My question is, am I supposed to be having this much resistance? It doesn't seem right that the madbull hop-up sleeve is almost too thick to reasonably fit inside the hop-up. If this is normal, how am I supposed to go about getting the sleeve in?
Also, if it matters, the hop-up is the stock hop-up from a SiG552. When I had the other madbull sleeve I recieved in the set installed in the full-metal hop-up that is now in there, we had the same problem. Eventually, oil was used to lubricate it, but I don't know if that's a reasonable fix or not.
Thanks.
