Warning-modify smooth modular gearset

I just got my high speed modular gearset today, put it into my G&P mechbox, put in a modify tappet plate, and closed the mechbox, then the motor wouldn't turn it. After poking around a bit, I realized it was the tappet plate that was jammed against the gear or something else that wouldn't make it turn. The same tappet plate moved fine with XYT gears. I then swapped in a G&P tappet, and the same problem occured, although the tappet could move back and forth very slowly this time, the gears still wouldn't turn. Finally, I put in a DBoys tappet, and after shooting off a few rounds, it now works fine. However it still sounds worse than my shimming on the XYT gears, although that's probably because my shimming set the gears too far apart.

Um, Modify works best with Modify parts.
Try sticking to one brand.

I was talking about XYT gears that I shimmed lol. I got the SMOOTH set, with one bracket. And the modify tappet plate constricted the movement the most, the G&P one was actually slightly better, the nozzle moved back and forth instead of it not being able to move at all with the modify tappet. How would I have been able to put shims on a modular gearset??

By very badly messing it up.

Just shave down a little from the width of the part of the tappet plate that is jamming.

doing that right now XD
I'm dissapointed that no expensive airsoft thing that I bought has ever worked perfectly... not even when I got that pretty much new TM 5.1

EDIT: yikes, the DBoys winglet profile tapers to a much narrower point...
