IPSC open class sight choices

One of the pictures show an aimpoint, are there any others that would fit? Last question; i do have an aimpoint replica that i'm using for my mp5 and it's a pretty good chunk of metal. Do people prefer sights such as c-mores as opposed to others due to weight considerations. I wouldn't want to slow my draw with a too-heavy gun.

Please tell me why not. Go look up some race pistols and you'll see Aimpoints mounted all the time.

For CAPS we have guys running Cmores and Aimpoints, with one using a doctor sight. I think it just comes down to personal preference on which one you like more. I've tried playing around with both on my pistol, the Cmore is definetly lighter compared to the Aimpoint but I don't think the weight is that much different for the draw. The issues I see for weight will more likely come from shooting one handed, either strong or weak making it tougher for you to keep a steady hand while shooting. The pro's of it is that the heavier weight of the gun will compensate for the recoil of the blowback, making you stay on target easier.

For me its faster to find my dot with an aimpoint when a match starts, so that's what I'll be using.

I put a full size aimpoint on my Hicapa...not the most elegant thing. Pretty huge. Amazingly fast though...the whole body of the sight actually serves as a visual reference point when you're coming up on target and once you're used to "holding a little low" (i.e. you feel like your hands aren't coming up high enough to sight properly) the red-dot makes it ridiculously easy to hit Alphas.

You only need C-mores when you are very experienced in working with optics, and if you're serious in purchasing it.

One popular product Aimpoint has made for race pistos and competition is the Aimpoint Comp. It's much more nicer.
