Looks like no more Magpul ranger plates from the US

Tried to order some Pmag Ranger Plates from Magpul directly since its cheaper than getting them from a Canadian restricted firearms retailer or Redwolf but got an email telling me they have just been notified that they are no longer allowed to ship them outside of the US, like their stocks and other accessories. I have ordered ranger plates from them before (for my PTW mags) and got them no problem.

I guess add ranger plates to the list of items illegal to export from the states along with NVG's, RIS/RAS units, body armour, etc.

I think there are more than a few companies that use ITAR restrictions as an excuse to suck at the American procurement teat for all their income.

No fear in the next while there will be shitloads of surplus product turning op on eBay.

If customs finds a RIS/RAS and know what it is and that its restricted to export, they will nab it.

Its like on the PTW forums, an American put a set of NVG's up for sale with international shipping. The mods posted in the thread saying that if didn't change it to continental US only they would ban him for support terrorists and send his IP to homeland security.

You can always still by Magpul (or any other export restricted items) from friendly nations that don't subscribe to ITAR as religiously as the U.S.

The UK comes to mind for some things (no essential gun parts like receivers or internal components though).

Or just pay more to get them in Canada. I've never paid more than $24/3 Ranger plates and that is from in Canada (I have 2 dozen or so).

There is nothing illegal on the Canadian end for a RIS/RAS, is the DOS export regs getting across the border. its really a bunch of hooey as for the most part its a cash grab by the good ole USA for the proper export permits and end user agreements.
