It Has Begun!

....MORTAL KOMBAT!!!

Ok, enough of that. I've got a CA C36 coming in as my first AEG so my whole P90 idea is now on the back burner till I can find a CA or Echo1 P90 up here. I got some gear coming in from Redwolf also but I haven't ordered anything for the gun yet. I'm thinking of aesthetic modifications for now till I can get a better understanding of the internals.

Doing a quick look around, I didn't find much. I was thinking of getting a rail system for a light and laser plus front grips (only found 1 on WGC but its pretty pricey and metal). Didn't find specific mags for it either unless it uses the mag that is universal for all G36 models. Also didn't find any adjustable stocks, was really hoping to but not a big deal. Most of the stuff I found mainly scanning through Redwolf and WGC were for M16/M4...not really interested in buying either.

I take it I can't simply buy a retractable stock for an M4 and hope to fit it on my C36, would probably need to do a bit of modding. Anyone else in possession of this gun who can offer some insight? Its not in yet, hopefully soon. I want to draw up a plan first and get some ideas. Once I've tried it out, I'll make adjustments along the way.

First advice, thread titles are (by rule) suppose to accurately describe the content of the thread.

CA36 use the same mags as TM36, because it's a clone.

You can put an AR stock on a G36 with a stock adaptor.

This'll let you put M4 style stocks on the G36... But I don't know why you would want to.. M4 stocks belong on M4's and M4's only...

hhmmmm...well, I thought the title was clever because for me getting my start down the road to airsoft so "It Has Begun" for me....guess not. So pretty much anything rated for TM under the same gun model will work. Will it be the same between the G36C/K...it just throws me off seeing when an accessory specifies either. Bit of a concern of mine since with my other interests, specifics like that can screw you over so I'm trying to becareful, this isn't a cheap hobby as I'm finding out.

The M4 style stock was just an idea. Like I said, I won't finalize anything till until I actually try it out and get a feel for it. But its a lot of fun looking around and putting together ideas. I swear every month I hit CanadaComputers and NCIX website to put together a new system even though it would set me back $2Gs.

Waste of time putting an armalite collapsing stock on a G36. You're better off putting a G&P G36"V" stock on it. You can cram a huge assed battery in it too boot. It still folds and collapses.

The main difference between the G36C, K and nil is the length. Thinking clearly about what that means and doesn't mean will answer most of your questions about accessories.

I wouldn't say putting an AR stock on a G36 is a complete waste of time. There are some very comfortable AR stocks, such as the CRT. Especially the CRT.

Also most places don't allow lasers due to the fact that they can cause eye damage, that and they give your position away.
Try a RDS (red dot sight) it projects a dot onto a screen that only you can see. It basically is a laser without the eye damage, and it can be mounted to the 20mm top rail on a G36c.

The optic that is on the CA36 is VERY good.. I'd recommended keeping it on.

I really like the G&P sniper stock. With the battery in there you get an insane rate of fire to boot!

Really? Mine was like 1.5x with minimal eye relief. I could get more zoom by squinting really hard with the naked eye.

Though, I got mine back when they first came out and I expect a couple improvements since then.

Have you gone to any games yet? If not, then refrain from buying any stocks for now. Some people(Like me) finds stock rather hard to use and unwieldly.

Some people finds it comfortable having it.

If you bought that stock and installed it, and later find out that you hate it, then you've wasted your money.

All good to know and exactly what I like hearing, multiple points of view and opinions for consideration.

I do intend to keep the stock scope and I'm now considering a red dot vs laser. Most of what I'll be adding is for aesthetics and once I get into gaming (since I'm mostly a basement target shooter), as long as everything is easily removable.

BTW, any thoughts on those drum mags that hold some 4000 rounds? Would make the gun kinds bulky and heavy. On the field, I guess it could put me in on a support role if I can get a bi-pod installed. I'll probably be getting 1 of those value-5 pack midcap mags.

Avoid drum mags for the G36, they're cheesy and promotes bad habits. Generally, the best way to start playing airsoft is as a rifleman, not support gunner or DM or anything.

Totally agree.... that and drum mags tend to be rather noisy when you are trying to stealth around...same as those pesky high caps...RATTLE....RATTLE
