lol!

Well, maybe not stupid looking, but I was certainly self concious running about with guys in ultra modern multicam and Flecktarn (see pics)

Actually, the whole thing ludicrously cheap compared to a lot of other loadouts:

The boots, politka and and helmet were from Front of Russia for about $80 USD, the pouches, webbing, canteen were from Soviet Army stuff for about $70 USD, the uniform was from Russian military and outdoor for about £40 UKP and the patches, collar tabs and shoulder boards were from Trident Military for $25 USD.

Not too shabby for 100% accurate loadout for a heavy AK user....

must resist making 'heavy' AK user joke... resistance...crumbling

Only joking beastie, as always spiffing kit & practical! & there's nothing wrong with the old school, once I've got all my current stuff finished (although you know how long that list is) I'm definitely doing a proper SAS kit 1960ish, back when men were men & all you needed was some wool clothes & a canvas belt & pouch & still take on a superpower!

Ah, so you bought off Front of Russia? I've really come to like the KZS-1 suits... and I saw that they had them for 45 bucks.. would you recommend buying from there?

Hmmm... a tricky one this. I have bought previously from Front of Russia twice, but that was before I found their "bad" rep online.

The problem is that they dont use Paypal so you have to wire the money to the Ukraine and you dont get any come back if your items are wrong.

The feedback I saw from other guys on the Red Alliance forum was that the people buying from them certainly recieve the items, but not necessarily the exact one they purchased:

i.e one guy wanted 1980's Soviet Para boots (very rare) but got the modern russian equivalent. some guys got fatigues that were wearable but were quite tatty and not in good condition. things like that.

Sorry, Getting to the point: I found that the items I bought (russian soldier high boots, russian M40 helmet, pilotka cap and Soviet 1980's VDV paratrooper fatigues) were in good condition and as advertised. The only problem was that the VDV fatigues were OD, not khaki, but bleaching them sorted that out (see pic) and I am very happy with them (especially as they were custom made for tubby 6ft 2" Westerners like me).

Front of Russia also (in my case anyway) had excellent communications and emails to them were usually answered the next day.

Hope that helps. As far as I am concerned they are okay to buy from, but like I said, they have had some unhappy customers in the past.

You just became King of Douchedom.. really how tactless and rude can you be? you remind me of a bully from my high-school. dont bring that attitude to games, you wont be welcome. and im not saying that to sound tough or to start a fight, im just giving you the professional courtesy by telling you. you MIGHT want to watch what you say
and i mean that in the nicest possible way.

BTW, to Beastor, nice loadout and nice gun. I have been skulking around your posts and i must say as far as kits and guns you, you have some of the nicest i have every seen in terms of variety and completeness.
