"Full Metal Upgrade".
It harks back to 2001/2002, when almost all GBBs available on the market were plastic and required a "full metal upgrade" if you wanted it to be all metal. Not like nowadays where full metal guns are accessible through OEM. The direct reference to the acronym was in jest to a certain retailer at the time who would upgrade plastic guns to full metal and sell them as an "FMU" gun to make it sound fancy. ie: "KSC G19 HW FMU Japanese Version" Cuz you know... acronyms make things fancier. :P Quote:
There should be criminal charges for a complete butchering of the English language in such a manner...

The Official SIG p229's that are on sale on the SIG Store are KJW's. I'm assuming that the P226's are also KJW.
I emailed SIG's customer Service and was originally told that they were TM's, but after much debate on several boards, I emailed Customer Service again to verify and she absolutely verified that they were KJW GBBs. I almost bought the P229 GBB from SIG until I heard that they were KJW's. They added about $100+ for the logos on a normally $100 GBB. |
