Gas, Spring or Electric?

Well I am planning on purchasing my first airsoft gun, and am wondering, Gas, Electric or Spring. State your opinion and why...

No, we told you to read the FAQ, not repost your question here. There's a guide to the differences between gas, electric and spring. Once you actually read it, it's painfully obvious what you should go with.

Spring = Quiet, simple (less parts break), single shot, accurate. Primarily for sniper use.

Gas = 'Cool down effect' most useful on semi-automatic only. Not very useful in the winter when it is cold (gas is at low pressure) Primarily used for pistols, snipers and shotguns.

Electric (AEG) = Automatic/Semi-automatic. Not effected by cold, upgradeable more than any of the above. Relatively cheap to fix, easy to use. By far most effective for the normal player. Primarily used in assault rifles.

Start with reading the newbie guide, the FAQ where you posted (you found that section), and doing the basic leg work to get age-verified. Then go to games/meets, see for yourself, and make up your own mind. It's all there for you to read.

For fuck sakes, hit the 'Back' button on your browser and scroll up or use the all-amazing-and-knowing forum search button.

im sorry to bring this up but this was only 1 of like 4 spring bb gun related topics. Basically ima newb..and i wanted to know if i can bring the spring bb guns into Canada through checked luggage. I have seen many of my friends do this. I have been reading around however i only met rules on gas guns and battery gun laws and rules...Im talking about the spring ones like the ones were u have to cock it every time you shoot.

Like my friend once got a Galaxy G.051 into Canada without a problem. Im thinking of getting one like that for myself...so basically im trying to say what are the rules for spring guns for checked luggage on planes.

I was thinking like the gun is mostly plastic and the only parts that are metal is like the spring and like some other small parts so when under an x-ray they wont see much would they....All i want to know is if i can bring it in.

No, you can't. It's illegal. X-ray can see a plastic gun just fine. They will pull your luggage and have the Homeland Security people detain you for a nice, long chat.

To whom it may concern,

You are not going to get a warm welcome here if you don't do your research, read all the FAQ’s and STICKYS. SEARCH and GOOGLE are your friends! Honestly if you can't find the answer then yes post up, but most folks are not into spoon feeding the next "new guy" and you are just going to get flamed. Seriously all the questions you have have been asked a million times by a million different new people. As we have all said a million times get in touch with your local representative and get age verified. If you’re not 18 then you’re going to have to wait till you are, period.

Cheers and welcome to ASC
