My (part finished) STI Executive
TM Hi Capa 5.1 base of course. I'm trying to create a accurate airsoft version of the STI Executive.
SD slide (STI Executive) Nova silver slide stop Nova silver ambi thumb safety Nova silver beavertail safety (if i recall correctly it is the SFA one) WE mag well still missing about 60% of the externals (frame, grip, barrel, chamber) some issues with the nova parts. the ambi safety came with the left side pivot shaft bent inward. I had to carefully bend it back. I also find that the right side tends to fall out occasionally when installed. it comes down to how the two side connect; the original TM ambi safety connects via a triangular mortis and tenon joint (my best attempt at describing it), while the nova safety has a single prong that fits into a slot. the beavertail safetyhas one issue. although it pivots and moves in the same way as th stock part, it doesn't work (as in it does not stop the trigger pull and the hammer from dropping). I don't know the reason for this. the beavertail does feel stiffer than the stock one so there might be some part not lining up or engaging improperly. or it may be due to the shape of the pivot section; the nova one is a bit more forward, it protrudes from the safety more than the stock hi capa one. nova vs hi capa pictures album The slide is beautiful, but it scratches fairly easily and the sights were a tight fit. so tight in fact that i broke the front sight post while installing it, it just snaped off from the dove tail base. a dawson fiber optic sight has been ordered. ok enough text, time for pics Last edited by Rob; May 7th, 2008 at 20:13.. |

Looks damn good man. You should invest in the SD STI frame next. My Executive didn't feel complete until I got the STI frame.

we can't get the mid-frames in Canada.....also restricted, and not profitable enough for someone to bring in...

the mid-frame is the next big ticket item on my list, followed by the barrel/chamber combo (surprisingly expensive for the SD ones). I have heard that other manufacturers (nineball, guarder...) don't work all that well with SD slides, plus I want the authentic "STI 38 cal" markings.
I was hoping Illusion could bring a mid-frame in, seeing as he does have some freedom art ones. But they have been in his sales post for a while, and he might not import those anymore (have'nt asked) My funds are severely depleted, so it will be a while before I can finish this. maybe end of summer. |

I can order it for you on a preorder for a good price, but if it gets seized, I can't refund money to you.
If you're after a silver mid-frame, I will have one up for sale in a couple of months, as I'm replacing the one that I have on the gun that I originally built with inspiration from the STI Executive... I know... not STI "style"... and no STI markings. but... meh. :P But anyways, I like your build so far. I also have something similar in the works right now... Hi-Capa #6 for the collection... I have all of the parts, I'm just waiting for the base gun to arrive...
